EARep Scarlett: Hi, my name is EARep Scarlett. How may I help you?
: Im goign through Dragon age Origins on the 360, and for some reason the Master Warden achievment wont unlock for me
EARep Scarlett: Have you completed the requirement for the achievement?
: Yup. in my journal I have 557 killed
EARep Scarlett: Well, if you have completed the requirement and still the achievement is not unlocking, I would suggest that you post this on the forums for the developers to look into
: There are already a string of posts on the forums with NO answer reguarding the glitched achievment.
EARep Scarlett: we don't have a way to check your unlocked achievements or modify any information on it.
: Ive looked there, I've googled it, etc. There is actually no word on it at all and is kind of frustrating
: And you know of no way to get it to pop? So when I finish the game, its not going to pop up and add to my score?
EARep Scarlett: No we don't have that information either
: hmmm... i know this isn't your fault personally, but thats kind of crappy to hear.
EARep Scarlett: I apologize for the inconvenience.
: While its not ok, i do understand. Do you know of anyway in which I could actully reach Bioware's tech support instead of just posting to a forum tahts hardly ever, it seems, looked at?
EARep Scarlett: No, you need to post on forums.
: hmmm... ok. Thank you for your time
EARep Scarlett: Thank you for your participation in the EA Games Chat Support.
EARep Scarlett: Bye and take care.

It's funny that they've managed to break their own game so that it cannot even count to 1000, but mostly it's frustrating since I'm an achievement junkie and need that 1k GS to feel whole and in sync with the world.

Is it possible that it's only counting it when the character you're controlling makes the killing blow, meanwhile the statistic is counting it every time anyone makes the killing blow? That could explain what we're seeing, but this is just speculation.
In my second playthrough, I used a lot of Walking Bomb and Virulent Walking Bomb early on, which killed multiple enemies most of the times they popped, and late in the game I was 1-shotting Genloks with just my staff before my party members could reach them for melee... So it makes sense to me that in my second playthrough I might have killed 500 darkspawn personally. When I got the Master Warden achievement though, my character was unconscious. I was playing as another party member and made the kill.

I think Bioware should look at getting someone else to port their games to consoles in the future, I have to say I'm getting a little sick of all the console bugs and no patches to fix them.

another weird glitch, (spoiler) ****
I finished the game doing the ritual and got the dark promise opened. However, when the credits finished rolling and I loaded in the autosave, the ultimate sacrifice achievement also unlocked - weird o_O

That happened to me too. Both actually, since I received Master Warden at 810 on my second file...sassperella wrote...

I'm testing out my previous theory on this bug by playing through with modified AI settings for my allies to simply bolster & heal me, and attract the attention of/paralyze the enemies, but deal no damage at all themselves. All I've got left is the Ashes quest and the Landsmeet, and then obviously the finale. I'm not going to use the armies later on either. If this unlocks Blight Queller (or if it does not), I'll let you all know. (I wanted to play through the game with a Rogue anyway.) So I've got Wynne & Morrigan healing me when I take damage, as well as giving me Haste, casting the 3 heroic buffs, Glyph of Paralysis and Petrify on my targets while Leilana sings, marks targets for assassination, distracts and uses dirty fighting to stun. To prevent them from attacking, the last entry in their tactics settings is "Enemy: Any -> Wait".

The ultimate sacrifice opening early worries me too, not sure if this is going to affect me getting the perfectionist achievment in the future... oh well we'll have to wait and see...sigh.

Also achieved Perfectionist. I had that same bug where I recieved Ultimate Sacrifice after resuming my game after seeing Morrigan's ending... This was the 3rd time I beat the game, seeing the Morrigan, Loghain & Alistair endings, but not the one that I faultily recieved an achievement for earlier. (I will play to see that ending anyway, but I'm noting the bug here.)

Well, I had to get 1000 darkspawn kills with the currently controlled character in one playthrough to get it. I used two strategies to accomplish this.sassperella wrote...
ah well hopefully blight queller will open for me in due course thenthanks. And it seems I should still be able to get the perfectionist to then yay
Strategy #1 - Tap In - Tell allies to hold where they are at all times. For their tactics: "Enemy: Any -> Wait" as the first line. If I die, I use the next ally and so forth (as it's controlled character, not main character). By having them hold up far from the fight, I guarantee that they don't get killed first, giving me basically 4 separate lives per fight.
Strategy #2 - Mage awesomeness - Once I had both Morrigan & Wynne, I had them learn the spells below and set their tactics to:
"Controlled Party Member: Health less than 50 -> Heal"
"Controlled Party Member: Stamina less than 50 -> Rejuvenate"
"Controlled Party Member: Health less than 75 -> Regenerate"
"Self: Any -> Haste"
"Self: Any -> Spell Shield"
"Self: Any -> Arcane Shield"
"Self: Any -> Wisp"
"Self: Any -> Rock Armor"
"Self: Any -> Death Magic"
"Self: Any -> Frost Weapons" (Morrigan)
"Self: Any -> Fire Weapons" (Wynne)
"Enemy: Attacking currently controlled character -> Petrify"
"Enemy: Attacking currently controlled character -> Glyph of Paralysis"
"Enemy: Nearest Mage -> Drain Mana"
"Currently Controlled Character: Any -> Heroic Attack"
"Currently Controlled Character: Any -> Heroic Aura"
"Currently Controlled Character: Any -> Heroic Defense"
"Enemy: Any -> Wait"
"Self: Any -> Cleanse"
Once I started running out of lines, I put Wisp, Rock Armor, ____ Weapons, Death Magic, Cleanse & Revival in their quick-use slots, and just switchted to them occasionally to make sure those were still on, instead of having their tactics handle them. (Only bother turning cleanse on if someone went unconscious in the last fight) (Potion + Revival for the rare occasions that the main character drops first.) Spell Shield & Haste seemed to shut themselves off often, so I kept them in the tactics. The others persisted as long as the caster didn't die.
The Heroic Attack/Aura/Defense might not stack... So maybe give 2 to Wynne and one to Morrigan or something.
Haste might not stack IN combat, I'm not sure, but after having Haste cast on you twice, you'll never want to walk in the game without haste ever again. The walking speed boost stacks, even though you only see one icon for it. I wonder what 3 Hastes would be like... The optimal way to do Strategy #2 there is really to play as a mage, but use Leliana as your controlled character, to get 3 mages constantly healing/buffing you. (Leliana suggested for her lockpicking skills, but any of the non-mage party members work here.) Perhaps give the main character "Telekinetic Weapons".
Since I was a Rogue, not a mage, I kept Leliana around and set her to:
"Self: Any -> Song of Valor"
"Enemy: Attacking controlled character -> Dirty Fighting" (No damage stun)
"Enemy: Any -> Wait"
EDIT: Also, Casual difficulty. I recieved the achievement while killing (spoiler here) the last wave of darkspawn that the archdemon calls to it's aid.

1. delete the system cache
2. delete return to ostegar dlc (note that i had all dlc, and this was the only one i deleted)
3. loaded the character from my first playthrough, and loaded a save from the final battle
4, i then played right the way through the final battle and save at the final door before you fight the dragon (couldnt be bothered with it)
5. repeat the process by loading in the first save again and fighting your way through.
i hope this helps

I started a(nother) new character last night to try to kill all 1000 my self, but if the method mentioned in the last post is correct, I'd rather do that one...
