And we remember what happened to her right? Might be a clue as to who the Disciples are.

Minor disappointing things:
- doh, three more days for us europeans
- no alpha nugs spotted so far

How many Disciples are there I wonder, and here I was thinking they may have once been the Tevientor Mages....

Oh, and love their voices

That said, in the combat video featuring the first Disciple battle...
...he fights like any other generic (orange named) humanoid. So basically they are just Darkspawn upgrades with a voice, rather than something with interesting new tactics (as with the Queen and the Children).
Equally annoying is the encounter composition of the Boss Battle:
The Withered
A Hurlock
Another Hurlock
A Genlock
Call me crazy but that encounter setup looks like a walkover. Indeed, in the video (and the player is far from using optimum tactics) it is indeed a walkover. I think they had to heal one character twice and there didn't seem any real threat of defeat. Instantly forgettable boss battle.
However, the visual design of the Disciples are very cool, so there are some plusses. The monster visuals are definately getting better with Awakening, now all we need is a bit more thought put into the mechanical differences of monsters and the composition of encounters.

Things are going to be messy.
Just a thought... With the staff, the Disciples looks almost like a templar

Armored Ogre, Talking Darkspawn, Effeminate looking Architect.... Angry female mage, lying male mage, and a drunken male dwarf...
That dwarf better lend me some of that ale, because I am going to be needing it with all these problems.
I am somehow thankful that I have no romance issues at the moment.....

I like these Disciples, I think having talking Darkspawn really makes things potentially more 'personal'. One of the failures of DAO was that the Archdemon really had no personality - it seems thats been addressed with the Architect and to a degree these Disciples.

I would guess it was on casual/easy so the npcs probably weren't using any abilities.

The story behind them sounds more interesting now and they look more badass then a Hurlock of course
When I first saw them I thought they were improved version of darkspawn Emissaries but now it looks like they are a new group of darkspawn.
And Armored Ogre ! Oh man now thats a pain.

The way the Disciples are introduced kind of reminds me of Legion. By that I mean they belong to a group that was considered the main enemy in both of their initial games, and now they have suddenly become intelligent enough to speak.
I don't get the similarities... lol slow one here i guess
