They sure seems cool. Talking, intellegent darkspawn. I think they are evolving after these years.
The story behind them sounds more interesting now and they look more badass then a Hurlock of course :)

When I first saw them I thought they were improved version of darkspawn Emissaries but now it looks like they are a new group of darkspawn.

And Armored Ogre ! Oh man now thats a pain.

I'm under the impression that they aren't Darkspawn at all. People who read the Calling have seen* something like this before- multiple talking 'Darkspawn'.**

*: So to speak.

**: Being vague so as not to spoil the three people here who haven't read the Calling.

Me too. The red eyes, rotten skin, awesome fighting capabilities that "rival the Warden's". I mean really, who of those who have read The Calling could be fooled now? ^__^

We have a new update on the Dragon Age: Origins Awakening creatures page - The Disciples.

Players think of the darkspawn as mindless fighters or footsoldiers of the darkspawn, and until Awakening this was mostly true. However now you must face a new threat. Intelligent, talking darkspawn with powers and abilities that can rival even the strongest of Grey Wardens. Where do these talking darkspawn come from and what new allies are they bringing with them into battle?

Check out new screenshots and video of the Disciples on the Dragon Age: Origins Awakening creatures page here: http://dragonage.bio...ture/disciples/

Alrighta..I can get behind that :)  Oh and Oggie's comment.."a talking darkspawn..lets shut him up" ..made me smile.

I guess I am one of those three people then...I refuse to read the books til after..hehe, then I'll compare it with my ingame knowledge.   :) And no I haven't ordered them yet either.

You... have not read the books!!!:o

..... So people like that really do exist....

Guess we know why The Withered said 'capture The Grey Warden Commander'. The Warden would be a powerful ally indeed.

Think of it as fighting another human but you have no weapons or armour and they have the Juggernaut set and the Yusaris blade. They are badass cause of what they have not what they are.

I'm guessing the red hooded one is the architects right hand man.

The purple one? A new enemy type to fight, as theres a screenshot with two of them on screen at once. Also, their face is less detailed than the red hooded one.

It seems in Awakening we will be going into the fade at least once. And we'll find a disciple there. Excellent.

Well we Warden commanders have our work cut out for us I see. Just now got to check out the Disciple video. An intelligent, well armored, talking mage of a darkspawn, just lovely (not to mention possibly having to go the Fade again from what I am reading. I hate that place and that quest in Origins!). Those are bane of my existance. "Crush him/her" he says, hmmm apparently he has yet to eat his words. The ogre is going to be a lot of fun to tackle and kill. I think I will make sure I am at Master level poisoner before any more of my games are finished and create a mass of stock of poisons. Hopefully that will carry over in to the game as poison bombs have become rather handy

in tight spots. Especially when one gets cocky and decide to increase the game difficulty.

The architect reminds of a cross between Hellraiser and Alien. Another fun and evil challenge to wrangle with. :o)

Won't be surprised if that is Utha or Duncan.

What a cruel cruel fate.

Or perhaps they bribe them with cookies to be quiet?
