Series 2 would be great - it won't be done by DC though, finger crossed for Art Asylum!

Nnnnnoooo, not Art Asylum, they are less reliable than DC Direct, sure there Battlestar figures were gorgeous, but they were terrible for releaseing figures on time, and they favoured characters like Kendra Shaw ( who only appeared in one Episode / film over characters like Baltar.

NO NO No too Art asylum

Damn those look so good. Makes me wish DC weren't such idiots... Would have got a Garrus and Mordin then (and Liara in Series 3 if all had gone to plan haha)
Ah well, whoever takes over should do a good job, it's hard to go wrong really

I hope your right, I really, really wanted my Garrus and Miranda figures.

but please who ever takes over, dont make the figures any smaller than six Inch

anything smaller than 6", the detail and articulation suck big time.

If you could ask a prospective new supplier which 4 characters to create which would you choose?

I wouldn't do the 4 DC Direct have done again but would go for:

Miranda, Garrus, Liara and a toss-up between Jack and FemShep.

Sorry, don't get too excited. I said cuff but they called it a "wristband:"

deffinatly Liara, Miranda, Garrus and my favourite Mordin

From a logical perspective, the new company wouuld most likely make:

-Shepard (probably another Manshep)
-Liara
-Ashely or Kaiden (chances are Ashely to go with a Manshep figure)
-Garrus

These seem most likely because if a new series was released we'd probably get the primary group from ME3.

That said, these are the figures I'd personally want most:

-Wrex
-Garrus
-Legion
-Saren

It would be cool if the Mass Effect series got a similar treatment as Mcfarlane did with Halo.  Imagine figures of Blood Pack, Eclipse, and Blue Suns mercs, Rachni, etc etc.  They could really flesh out the Mass Effect series as a whole.

Whats obvious from this thread is that we all love Mass Effect and were all looking forward to a complete range of mass effect figures, and that were all bitterely dissapointed that they were canceled after 1 series.

so if another company has picked up the licence and pulls there fingers out and gives us some decent figures

would you rather have 6-7" scale and maybe a smaller range of just the main characters.

or 3-5 " scale with a larger range of characters like Mercs, and maybe Aliance troops of aliens

hmm that's a hard one. Overall I prefer the larger 6-7" scale. I like bigger figures, they're more imposing, and most of my figures are already that scale. I never liked the smaller scale Halo figures; having a 5" Spartan does not go well with a 7" Nanosuit from Crysis, or any Gears characters, etc.

I think 6-7'' figures are the way to go. I think the scale of these is very nice. They are more impressive on display and you can better capture the detail and personality of the characters. Lines that are aimed largely at collectors should be in this scale, I think. 3 3/4 is better for kids or a line that will involve vehicles.

I deffinatly agree, prety much every figure I own are 6-7 Inch with acception of a couple of Halo 3, which look rather weedy with my other figures, especialy my Neca Predators figures, and I deffinalty think the larger figures have more impact when on display

Surely they couldn't be worse that DC? I have a few AA/DST Star Trek figures - Sisko, Worf, Kirk, Kirk movies, and Picard - and they're all great! Detail, articulation etc is all wonderful.

Depends. I'd probably think for the first wave

- ManShep
- Jack
- Liara
- Tali

Wave 2:
- Ashley
- Kaiden
- Samara
- Mordin

Wave 3:
- FemShep
- Jacob
- Thane
- Wrex

Wave 4:
- Miranda
- Morinth
- Garrus
- Saren

Reposting my suggestions from... Wow! 9 months ago!

- Series 1

- Commander Shepard (Male)
- Tali'Zorah vas Normandy
- Grunt
- Thane Krios

Series 2
- Garrus Vakarian
- Miranda Lawson
- Dr. Mordin Solus
- Legion

Series 3
- Commander Shepard (Female)
- Samara
- Jacob Taylor
- Jack / Subject Zero

Series 4
- Zaeed Massani
- Kasumi Goto
- Morinth
- Joker (with EDI Ball)

Series 5 (aka Mass Effect 1 Series)

- Urdnot Wrex
- Dr. Liara T'Soni
- Ashley Williams
- Kaidan Alenko

Series 6 (aka Villain Series)

- The Illusive Man
- Harbinger (Collector Version)
- Saren Arterius
- Matriarch Benezia

Series 7
- Admiral David Anderson
- Ambassador Donnel Udina
- Aria T'loak
- Yeoman Kelly Chambers

Of course, unless they give them to somebody soon who can make 'em and put them out like lightning, I doubt this'll be the case. If anything they'll start to focus more on the ME3 characters.

I'd guess if they were to do a new series then they'd open up with ME3 lead characters, although if they're quick enough they could get away with ME2 and ME figures in the interim period before ME3. I dunno though, they would need to be ready about now...

Anyway my picks for a first series would be
MShep (lead character after all, sorry FemShep fans!)
Liara
Garrus
Mordin

Really just MShep and my 3 favourite characters, but I can hope :P

Terror_K, the fact that you posted that 9 months ago lol just goes to show the effect of DC Direct's delays. Anyway Zaeed would be a cool figure, I didn't think of him... but I still want Wrex, Garrus, Legion and Saren. Depending on the new company/line, I'd probably like an updated Grunt/Tali.

I ordered them through Amazon. Gotta search for them in toy section (mass effect 2 or mass effect series 1), wont show up normally... but they are there. Shipped from their partners, and supplies are limited.

Got a Shepard and a Tali in the mail, and they will stay in the box next to all my other gaming collectables.

thanks for that Image IPB    ordered Tali for my brother - only had one left in stock when I went over to Amazon

That whole "I left in stock thing" is just from that particular vendor.  Amazon is not stocking them, so they go to their marketplace partners, which is a group of various comic and toy shops.  Just because partner X has 1 left, or is sold out, does not mean Amazon is out.  They still have other vendors they can use.

Still doesn't mean people should wait to order.  Even a long list of partner vendors runs out eventually.

As for the matter at hand, my Sheppard and Tali arrived in the mail today, but stay in the box.

1. Weapons seem oversized. Not really a complaint, but an observation. It is a common enough drawback for collectable figures to have ill-sized accessories. Nothing I would hold against them.

2. Coloring. Certain things seem haphazardly done. Nothing drastic, but little things... like the one side of beard overly dark someone posted earlier. Like weapons, nothing to really diminish the piece overall... just noticable.

I really hope Bioware proceeds with series 2/3, but I would really stress that they consider another company for the licensing rights. DC Direct has dropped the ball in many ways during this project that I would like to believe another company, such as NECA, would not have suffered (not suggesting NECA, just the first name to pop in my head).
After their poor handling of ME2 series, and to a lesser extent their problems with Batman: Arkham Asylum series, I hope every game maker thinks hard before letting DC Direct spearhead any collectable projects.

If ME2 series 2 and beyond are forever off the table, this is a learning experience for any plans for ME3 figures or (wishful thinking) promotional release of ME1 figures.

well here's hoping that these figures are popular enough to warrant bioware pursuing another company to make more figures. I am hoping it isn't another year before we hear anything either.

Does anyone know when the bioware store will be shipping out their orders on these? Will they send an e-mail first when they ship them?

Had pre-ordered Shep and Tali.

Walked into Forbidden Planet today and lo and behold they were all there! Bought both Shepard and Tali.

Will have to sort out cancelling/returning those pre-orders.

Tali goes to my brother to..er....play with.  Image IPB

And Shepard takes centre stage next to my Morrigan Image IPB

I hope someone from Bioware has kept an eye on this thread and knows there is a healthy appetite among fans for more figures and that the DC Direct delays doesn't put them off.

We would love more figures Image IPB

It's funny you mentioned that.. I JUST got my email saying my figures finally shipped from the Bioware Store! :)

Hopefully Bioware has seen the recent explosion in this thread over the past week as a sign that these figures are popular...

Yeah, just checked my e-mail and saw that they've shipped.  I'm really looking forward to getting them.  Hopefully whoever gets the license will put out a lot more, because I love Mass Effect stuff.
