I JUST GOT EM - But I have a problem .... how many guns does Thane come with just the pistol or what? PLZ answer so I can go apecrazy if they missed a gun. I ask because Thane is in a pose that says I should have a gun in his hands

It's just the pistol, don't worry, dudebro.

Lol thanks I was just found it strange the way he was posed in the box, so now that theyre here Im super psyched for ME3

Btw did anyone get like a whole bunch of vibes when watching Skyline? It reminded me of Mass Effect sooo much oh and even the way the people got when they looked into the light looked like the ways husks would look like in real life!

I just got my set of four from the Bioware store! Not only that, but they threw in the extra N7 t-shirt AND the Illusive Man/Normandy mini-lithos free! I was ecstatic of course, what a great surprise. I finally get my figures as well as $48 of free Mass Effect stuff :)

All these people getting theirs, I'm appalled by the lack of people posting pics of them.

I will remedy this.

I just picked up Grunt today at my local video game store. I haven't even opened him yet, but he looks awesome. Now I just gotta wait till next week when they restock on Shepard figures.

Yeah, you're off the hook, I dug your pics. :D

And Grunt is pretty fantastic. I anticipated liking him the least, but he really surprised me.
It'd really be a shame if DC Direct's ineptitude was the death of plastic Mass Effect, because I really love having toys from my favorite sci-fi universe on my shelf.

Show the true collectors some love, shop out the license.

I agree, out of the four Grunt is by far the best. Which I'm especially glad about since Grunt was my most anticipated :) Thane actually turned out better than I thought, considering his pose. Took me a while to get Tali's legs in a pose that both looked good and made her actually able to stand. My only complaint really is that besides Shepard they all have some trouble holding their weapons because their hands are soft plastic. Seems like a poor decision especially with Grunt who has to hold the massive and heavy Claymore. But overall I love them. I'm probably gonna order another Grunt and Shepard, maybe Tali to leave in the box and hang. If I do that then I'll probably do some repaints of Grunt's alternate and my Shepard's silver and green color scheme. On another note, I already have my free Normandy/Illusive Man lithos framed and hung :)

Yeah, Thane's pose is actually a bit irritating, you just can't do much with it. The sculpted detail is superb-looking, though.

The thing I like least about Thane's pose is just the way his head is looking so far down. If it was just a little bit higher I wouldn't mind it so much.

I'm on the fence about Thane. The pose looks like it would bug me, but it's such a great-looking figure otherwise. I might pick him up after I get Shepard.

I've found out through playing with posing that Thane can look very good holding Shepard's lancer. He still looks good in his normal pose with his smg, so I would still recommend getting him. I was on the fence as well but once I opened him up I was happier. You pretty much just have to have him in the one pose to really look decent.

On another note, anybody else who has the figures, question.  Does your Grunt's right wrist move? Mine doesn't.  I thought it would since the left one does, but when I tried to move it I saw the plastic starting to rip very slightly.  Luckily I stopped as soon as I noticed so no damage done.  But I want to know if it actually is supposed to be articulated, or if mine is just stuck.  Kinda sucks if it is stuck because if I could move it he'd have more range of motion holding his shotgun.

My Tali should be arriving tomorrow! I'll be buying Shepard next week possibly, and will look into buying Grunt and Thane in the future.

Anyone who thinks they have stuck joints (My Tali figure had stuck elbows and you couldn't twist her waist) you can get them unstuck via the Freezer Method.

Step 1) Place figure in freezer (DO NOT WET THE FIGURE)
Step 2) Wait 20-30 minutes for figure to chill
Step 3) Remove from freezer and slowly try to work the stuck joints/swivels.
Step 4) If you fear the joint may break repeat steps 1-3.

The freezing process allows the softer plastics to harden a bit so the parts won't break off at the joint. It also allows tacky/sticky paint that may be causing the joints to stick to harden and stop gumming up the joint.

Hope that helps.

I just put my Grunt in the freezer, hopefully that will work because I really want his wrist to be able to move. I'll let you know if it works.

I guess I got lucky with the other three figures because they don't have any stuck joints though.

EDIT: It didn't work, Grunt's right wrist is still stuck :(  I didn't wanna wrist forcing it too hard because it is already just slightly ripped...  Granted, the "rip" is extremely small and is completely hidden.  But either way, the joint is still stuck :(

I tweeted Randy from NECA, he said that ME is "still a DC license & we're too busy to take on another one right now. Sadly we can't do 'em all."

So it's either still in DC and BioWare is making some arrangements with another company to take it over or DC will actually make series 2 (which is very unlikely) OR - we will never see ME action figures :(

Got my Tali today. I like it, but she could've used more details, she won't hold on to her shotgun, and the omni-tool is connected on her left wrist so I can't take of the tool.

The toys arrived yesterday, and I'm really happy with them for the most part. The visual design is great, though I was pretty annoyed that Shepard's right shoulder pad snapped off as soon as I took him out of the box. It clips back on because of two little nibs, but the slightest movement of his right arm causes the pad to snap off again, which is really frustrating. Getting his gun to sit in his hands has proven really tiresome as well. He has to hold his arms really awkwardly, and the gun sits at an angle. I managed to get it to look OK after a great deal of fiddling around with it though.

Other than that, they look great and I'm happy I got them. Even though I do wish Thane wasn't staring so intently at his left foot. I have him sitting on a box so that he's slightly higher up. Up on his assassin's perch.

I'm planning on doing some repaints as well and I was planning on using Games Workshop paints for my figures.

They are on the expensive side, but I feel they are the way to go.  You could use any kind of acrylic paint, but you're better off getting actual high quality brands as opposed to the crap from Walmart.  That stuff sucks.  Gloss Varnish will reallly add that extra something for certain areas, such as Tali's mask.  Just paint a coat of the varnish on it after you paint it.  Games Workshop also has gloss varnish.  Depending on the amount of detail,  Games Workshop foundation paints would be really good for large areas of solid color.  For the more detailed stuff, use the regular paints they have.

A transluscent mask would have been preferable, too.
If you look at the underside of the omni-tool, it looks like there was supposed to be a clasp originally, but instead they molded it together. I simply snipped that small connection on the underside, and she can slip the tool on and off. The functionality as an accessory isn't affected, it wraps around her hand and stays in place. Nice and snug.

Alas, poor HK.

Hoho! Bioware crossover.

Damn none of the usual figure review sites have gottena round to doing a rundown on this line so I have no idea if this is a running problem with many of the figures or just yours. Hmm...

Sorry it didn't work. There is also the hair dryer/boil and pop method, I'll find a tutorial on that for ya.
