Say I wanted to create my own VOs for my PC to use in the single player game, how would I go about doing it with the toolset? Is it even possible? Thanks for the help!

Well, I believe, since your character doesn't have VOs in the single player game, I doubt it would be very useful to have VOs since they won't be used.

Indeed, I don't think the game engine actually supports PC VO. You could probably fake it pretty easily in a conversation that you've written from scratch, by having each player response followed by a line that causes the player's creature object to repeat the response out loud, but it'd require a lot of work to retrofit the existing main campaign with PC VO that way.
It'd also require a heck of a lot of VO recording. There's nearly a million words of dialogue in Dragon Age's main campaign, and while I don't know what proportion of that is PC responses I'm sure it's a substantial percentage. Considering that there's a lot of permutations of race, gender, and origin the PC could have, which would require multiple voice actors to re-record several versions of that all if we wanted it to sound decent, you can perhaps see why we decided to have a voiceless protagonist in this game.

I think he means the lines they say outside of conversations, like "Stop Bothering me"
"AURGHHHHH" and so on and so forth.

If you're talking about the soundset (battlecries etc.), then it can be changed by opening your saved game in the toolset.
However, before we have working alternative soundsets (like we had in BG/NWN), there won't be anything to change it to, unless it's another of the existing game soundsets.

Yeah, I meant the battlecries and VOs outside of conversation, like Neveras said. I'd like to record my own VOs and make my own personal soundsets for my characters. I have a mic and I assume I can use Sound Recorder to record the .wavs.
I just want to know how I can look at the ones that come with the single-player game to get an idea of quantity/types of VOs I have to record, and I need to know how to add it to the game so that it is selectable when a new character is made. As well, knowing how to change the VOs of an already existing PC would be nice, although I think this is what Malcroix mentioned.

Ah. Should be possible, soundsets are stored as ordinary conversations (I think there's a bunch in core resources - they're prefixed by "ss_", I believe). I don't know how the soundset system works in any detail, though, so I wouldn't know how to go about doing it offhand.
To change the soundset of a character in an existing game would require editing the savegame, probably. Savegames are GFF files so you can open them with the toolset and have a look inside, but I don't know anything about their structure so can't give any clues on where to look within them.

Yeah, that's the big question.

Nominally, it's easy, you open the saved game (*.bas), and under PLAYERCHAR you've got the soundset field, where you can specify the name of a different soundset.
However, here's the catch. If you try to add stuff to single player campaign (I tried morphs, i.e. heads), it capitally screws up your entire game. You can't level, change locations, conversations disappear etc. At this point, I don't know how to bypass that.

I don't like the in-game PC soundset choices. I want to import some Baldur's Gate/Icewind Dale soundsets. I assume this will require some effort for the conversion, but is it even possible?

You can change your soundset by opening your most recent savegame (My Socuments/BioWare/Dragon Age/Characters/{character_name}/Saves/*.das) with the DAO Toolset. Next, find the variable under SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR -> SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR_CHAR -> SAVEGAME_PLAYER_SOUNDSET, edit its value entering a soundset name, in my case, "ss_pc_felf_exp". You should also need to change the "SAVEGAME_DEFAULT_SOUNDSET" variable with the same value. Remember to save before exit toolset.
I don't know what soundsets names are avaiable, but you can open another character savegane file to get your desired soundsetname.
