I recently sold the TOPSIDER'S HONOR sword to Bodhan's wares with the idea that when i needed it I could purchase it back.. IT's NOT THERE.. i've saved the game a few times before i realized that its not there .. I still have the pieces of it in my inventory is there anyway to get it back? i was planing on putting tomes on it and giving it to either allister or zevron.. any help would be appreciated!

I'm afraid that item is lost. The goods you have sold to a trader in one area will disappear once you have loaded a new saved game or went into another area.

That's strange, I sold plenty of junk to Bodahn, including some rare equipment and he always have everything. I'm on the PC version though, wonder if that's the difference.. are you on console?

I'm on the PC version and its the same for me that the items I sell have stayed there thru reloading and leaving the zone.  It would make some sense on the console that it does not save that info to save space on the harddrives. Then again I cant see that information taking up a whole lot of space.

I THINK that it might be in the relevant section of his normal inventory, so check each section to see if it's there; I seem to recall that vendors move the stuff you sell them from the "buy back" section into their general inventory if you exit a particular transaction and then re-enter,  (I dunno if it remains that way for that particular play session or whatever)

This is correct. Once you complete the transaction (IE you exit the shop window) they move it to their normal inventory and it is no longer in the buyback section. On top of that I am almost positive that you will pay the normal price associated with the item.
