This is for all the veterans of ME1 who have played through on Insanity.
I haven't yet unlocked all of the passive bonuses for having members of my party with me for most of the game. Right now, with my fem Shep Vanguard, I have Kaiden and Wrex, and they're sticking with me til the end. For my Insanity play-through I plan on using my male Shep Infiltrator, but I'm curious as to whom others used for their team.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

I really liked using Ashley and Garrus... And I was a soldier, so no biotics, and probably not the most well rounded insanity team, but definitely the team I have the most fun with! Plus, they are great in combat!

I was thinking Garrus and Tali, actually, for the last playthrough and transition to ME2 for the sake of hilarity/awesomeness. My Infiltrator will have Lift, so there'd be at least one biotic power!

For an infiltrator? I'd go with Kaiden/Wrex or Liara/Garrus. Except I always take Tali+Garrus/Kaiden on rogue VI or any obvious Geth encounters. Having 3 overload+sabotage against robots is wicked. It's great in the Armstrong missions. You can even hack the shock troopers with Tali to pick a fight with primes, that's always a fun show. Plus, when leveled up the tech powers can do some pretty good damage against robots.

As an Adept, I went with Kaidan and Wrex. Between us, we had enough Biotics to keep every enemy out of the fight. It was ridiculously easy.
For an Infiltrator I would have a Biotic like Liara, and someone like Wrex or Ashley to soak up damage.

I used Garrus and Liara on Infiltrator for power balance. Always doing power balance on Insanity runs, it's just my thing. Tali + Liara with Soldier rocks everything.

I forgot but I believe I took Wrex, Garrus and Adept Shep.

I'm on my Insanity playthrough now. I'm playing as a Soldier/Commando, with Tali and Liara as backup. It's been pretty easy so far, with only 2 battles where I went "Oh crap!"
1. In the fight in Chora's Den. Garrus must have used Sabotage on the Krogan bouncer because he ran over and melee'd both Garrus AND Wrex to death, leaving me as the sole survivor. (And I didn't have Unity at this point either.) I ended up running outside to that little circular walkway and ran around it in circles shooting at enemies that came out.
2. The Husk-filled mine in the Hades Gamma cluster. Even with me and Tali wielding shotguns, and Liara using Lift/Throw/Singularity, there were enough Husks that a few got close enough to let off their blasts, and two of them going off at once is enough to one-shot both Tali and Liara. Ironically, by this time I had Master Immunity, and with my Medical Exoskeleton, it recharged fast enough that I could keep it up 24/7, so the Husks could never kill me.
I guess this fight was more annoying than truly difficult. I don't look forward to the Husk ship though...
Just for fun I decided to kill a Thresher Maw on foot in Insanity. Tali and Liara kept running into the Maw's spit and dying, but it was otherwise just a matter of strafing and spraying.

I used Li'ara and Kaiden for my insanity run because I also needed their achievements (as well as the level 60 achievement). I accomplished all of those in one playthrough, and that team served me well, until I saved Ashley (at which point I switched to Garrus, but kept Li'ara). The Barrier ability saved me many many times. My male shep was an Adept with the specialization for Barrier and Stasis (I forget what it's called).

With an infiltrator, I usually roll with Liara/Wrex once I get my decryption and electronics to 9 (usually before I grab Liara) prior to that I'd go either with Kaiden or Tali to cover my unlocking needs. Generally prefer Kaiden since he also provides some biotic crowd control. For the Luna mission I'd go with Garrus and Tali. If you use AI hacking for your bonus, 2 ai hackings + 3 sabotage and oveloads makes that mission a lot easier.
