Adrian,

Had the same problem. Posted the fix for it last night. Here it is again:

Go into Control Panel --> Mouse --> Pointer Options

Turn off any or all of these three settings you have activated under Visibility:

Display Pointer Trails

Hide Pointer When Typing

Show Location of Pointer when I Press CTRL Key

That took care of it for me. Hope it works for you too.

For Ferelden!!!

Didn't have this problem but now I do for no reason, updated drivers for both video card drivers and mouse trying to fix this...no dice. I don't get why I "now" have a problem with this when I didn't and this doesn't work :/ Only thing that seems to work is that I can lower my resolution but that's not a fix, it's a work around.

Here's what fixed it for me, as simple as it is at 1920x1200 resolution at 60 hz with vsync off it was terrible. I tried the lower resolution 1650x1050 at 60 hz and it cleared the issue up. Usually an lcd monitor at the highest resolutions will either be at 60 hz or 59 hz, Setting it to 59 cleared the issue up immediately, seems an lcd can catch up faster at 59. I had to manually edit the file at

"My Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\Settings\\DragonAge.ini"

Didn't Expect the refresh rate to be an issue but when I noticed similar issues in all my games I gave it a shot, might work for you ^_^

Also enabling vsync only "increased" the flicker speed

That worked for me too! Thank you so much. However, I still have "Show Mouse when I press CTRL" active and it still works fine.

i had this problem as well, but when i updated to the latest ati drivers it went away. but now its back! so i tried pastdark fix and it doesn't work for me. the .ini file keeps reverting back to 60 whenever i change it to 59, and the few times it did stay at 59, it didnt do anything. the only way for the mouse to stay normal is by playing on a windowed mode, but i keep finding the desktop distracting. gah.

any ideas what else one can do to fix this?

Make the window size much closer to the same as the screen size?

you are right, having it at the max resolution on window mode is much less annoying than having a smaller window. why didnt i think of that before?

but anyway, i played with the ati settings [anti aliasing and such] and use the option, whenever posible, to use the programs settings instead of having the ati control center thing being the one that forces all to use its stuff, and it works ok now.

now i'm afraid to turn off the pc, or even restart. if it goes back to flickering, then windowed mode it is then :(
