 Can each loyalty mission be failed? I am under the impression that some missions are automatic successes if you do them. Is that true?

Tali- You can screw up the court case and have her not be loyal.
Zaeed- if you let Video escape and don't have enough para/gade to get him he isn't loyal.
Garrus- I have never failed getting his loyalty either by letting him shoot or talking through it. However I am guessing it's possible to blow this? Would like confirmation.
Thane- Possible to screw up the tracking and lose loyalty.
Samara- You can screw up the flirting and lose Morinth.

Other than these is it even possible to fail? I guess the Jack/Miranda and Tali/Legion fights could be counted as part of the loyalty maybe.

Grunt, Jack, Jacob are just auto-loyalty if you even attempt it?

You cant fail garrus's loyalty mission both outcomes get's his loyalty.

Well that's good to know. I thought maybe there was some paragon check you could fail and Sadonis would run away and garrus would take 1 shot and hobble him, but he still gets away and garrus is mad at you for blowing it for him. Nevermind.



So you can actually only fail very few of the missions. Bioware made it pretty difficult to fail honestly.

Hm when Garrus tells you to let him take the shot you have the option to "warn Sidonis". I never tried so I have no idea if it will fail you.

No that leads you to the paragon path of the resolution. Apparently you can't even fail that, I don't remember even making any morality checks.

Have you tried not using the paragon interupt but still attempting to get in Garrus' way?

Doesn't work that way. If you don't use the interrupt Sidonis will try to leave (since you've told him it was Garrus who set this up), this brings him into the crosshairs and bam down he goes.

I actually felt this was a decent resolution. First I badgered Garrus about whether he should kill Sidonis, then when Sidonis showed up I warned him about Garrus. If he had listened he would still be alive I walked away with a clear conscience.

I've done a couple of playthroughs with this in mind for my Worst Playthrough Possible thread.

Tali - Hand over evidence
Zaeed - Save the workers and don't Paragon him (you can also leave Zaeed to die if it's after the final mission)
Thane - Don't bother following the mark
Samara - Lose Morinth

I can't think of any others, although I don't know what happens if you try to pick the worst options for Jack. Even then, you can always lose a loyalty with Jack/Miranda and Legion/Tali.
