What are your Leliana builds?
I was considering going 30 cun, the rest dex. Bard and Ranger (for DPS). My understanding is that Dex > Cun for a group DPSer. Is this the case? And with this sort of build, how useful are the 3 points spent to get Lethality?
Any suggestions on good bows? The information in the stickied general guide seems a bit iffy... no mention of Falon'Din's Reach, etc.

I know a lot of people make Lel a ranger, but rogues have the worst stamina pools in the game, and keeping a pet and song up leaves Leliana with almost nothing left for active skills (arrow of slaying/scatter shot being the big ones). And that's not even taking the pet tactics into account which reset on each summon.
On my latest playthrough I pumped her dex almost exclusively since I wanted her as a primary dpser/secondary buffbot (she'll need at least 20 modified str to wear t7 drakeskin armor). I also specced her as a bard/assassin just to pick up Mark of Death.
This is by far the strongest Leliana setup I've run with to date. Her group utility and personal dps are both very high, especially if you run with a heavy physical damage party. If you go cun/Lethality her attack score will suffer, and there's nothing as bad as missing an Arrow of Slaying for 80+ stamina...
As for weapons, Far Song is by far the best bow in the game, but whether you want to blow the 120g on it for a side character is the question. Marjolaine's is fine imo.

Yeah, I've got the Marj bow on her now... the Far Song is out of my grasp since I screwed up and sent the smith's daughter back. (This is my first playthrough that I've used an archer... so I wasn't even aware of Far Song until a couple hours ago >,<)

You can get Lel's dex up to 40 or so, then dump the rest of her points into cunning. She'll hit often enough, especially with the right equipment (with Armsman's Tensioners, Shadow of the Empire and Harvest Festival Ring, she'll get +16 attack), and her Song of Courage becomes incredibly powerful.
Like Axekix, I also prefer to spec her into Assassin, if only for the Mark of Death talent. You can set up her tactics to automatically mark any elite or higher, which is quite handy.
I've played built Leliana up this way in three playthroughs, and she is always the second highest damge dealer in my party (followed by Morrigan, then Alistair - I use these three almost exclusively).

when I keep Leiliana as an Archer, I give her 20 Str, 30 Cun, and the rest in Dex. I also max out her Deft Hands Tree (30 cunning will allow you to open and disarm virtually every lock or trap. Bard/Assassin or Bard/Ranger are both good and is a personal preference. If you use the Respec Mod or the Advanced Party mod you have other Specialist combo's available. Also on a tip from Mosspit, don't overlook Duelist either. There is one skill in the Duelist line that works for both melee and archer rogues.

20 str, 40 cunning, rest dex.
That way i only need lvl3 lockpicking while still having great +attack from high dex. For an Archer Dex is always better than cunning for dmg and attack(Hit) even if the archer has song of courage.

Oh i also go with Assasin as 2nd spec only for the first abiliy, Mark of Death which is very useful.

I give that 20 str, 40 cun, rest dex a try in my next go round. I didn't even think about that saving me a skill point for something else. *whoosh-hand flies over the top of my head*
