Hello,

I have a few questions regarding how mass effect 3 importing is going to work and in particular how mass effect 2 saves the data.

The first question is in my "career" I have several save files that I cascade.  I saved strategically in my mass effect 2 playthrough so that I could go back and get the paramour achievement (but did not want to get this on the save where I finished the game so I could keep my ME1 romance).  In addition the first time I beat the game, mordin died.  I went back and loaded the save I had at the end, had mordin join my party, and then everyone survived.  Now how will all of this be stored for mass effect 3 (since there are technically several different outcomes that happened in my career).  Will mordin be dead since he died the first time I loaded a save and beat the game? will the romance with miranda be carried over (even though i stopped playing right after it, and did not beat the game from that save load).  I hope I am explaining this correctly, just wanted a little bit of insight.

The second question is, will I still need my mass effect 1 save when mass effect 3 imports, or will it get all of that information from my mass effect 2 save? This could be a problem for me since my mass effect 1 save is on my hard drive, and my mass effect 2 save is on my memory card unit. So I am unsure how I would be able to import from both locations (since you do not allow the game saves to be backed up and copied to another memory location).

The third question I have is are there any plans to allow us to backup our mass effect 2 game saves.  I do not really see the harm in allowing them to be copied since they are locked to a profile anyway and this can be done on PC.  Maybe my save will be fine and I will not have any data loss, but I work with computers, harddrives with moving parts do fail.  This can only end badly for bioware as they are going to end up with at least some people who experienced harddrive failures between mass effect 2 and mass effect 3.

Thank you in advance for your help. And I hope you consider rectifying the 3rd question with a patch in the future.  Heck I would even pay for this as a DLC patch.
