I bought the Deluxe version off of Steam and I installed it, played thru the campaign once already without the DLC and now I am trying to get the DLC on my game however nothing is working... I put in the redeem code and on my account on bioware.com it says i have the DLC however under the column where it says download it has two gray lines. I go into my game and I look under the Download content section and it has nothing, i refresh it about a hundred times and still nothing. I have no idea what is going on and i just put down $75 for this deluxe verison yet i have nothing deluxe... Hopefully someone can help meeeeeeeeeee

See the Redeemed DLC Troubleshooting FAQ for solutions to common problems getting DLC to download and installed.

As a first step make sure the Dragon Age Origins Content Update service is running.

1.) Press the windows key + R (or click Start and then RUN) and type in services.msc and press ENTER

2.) Locate the Dragon Age: Origins - Content Update in the list of services.

3.) Right click it and select START

Error 1503: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

No idea how to get around that.. I don't feel like blowing up my computer :-/ knowing me, I know I will do something wrong unless it's somewhat simple.

What do you use for a Firewall? Does DA:O have permission to access the internet/act as a server?
Have you logged in in-game?

I don't use a firewall whatsoever, and yes I have logged into the game constantly.

I tried using the "cmd" function and it just wouldn't work..... I have no clue on what to do. Would re-installing the game work?

Then I don't know what it could be. And are you sure you're not just using the Windows Firewall? Then again, if you can login in-game, it shouldn't be a problem to download'em either...

So if you go to the services tab and look up the process 'DAUpdaterSvc' (or something like that), it is running?

Are you logged in? If yes, then...

Can you go to Windows Firewall? It tells you whether something is active. If a firewall is active, go to it, and make sure you add an exception to the list (tell it to add a certain program to it, that should be DAUpdaterSvc.dll, or something along those lines, in Program Files/Steam/Steamapps/Common/Dragon Age)

Make sure you are running the service as an adminstrator.  You might also want to try the beta fix for the Content Update service to see if that helps.

Turns out the only account I am using on my Windows XP is the Admin account.. so everything I do is from an admin position.
