I just watched this guy do it:

Kind of sad, actually. Would you guys betray her, even if you were trying to be a complete badass throughout your playthrough?

I wouldn't really see it as a betrayal. If Rael wanted to be an idiot then on his head be it.

Tali would rather fall on her sword than tell the truth about her dead dad? Whatever.

Only reason I don't show the evidence is because I don't want the Quarians getting their hands on the anti-Geth technology from it.

No, the way I looked at the loyalty missions is they were the squad mate's trip, so, whatever they thought was right I supported them in, and clearly Tali would rather be exiled than see her father's name ruined. Fortunately the paragon option allowed me to sidestep that tough decision.

Yeah, I never quite saw it as betrayal either. As much as I love Tali, she will tell damned lies to protect her pride.

The badass is the guy that can get someone be proclaimed innocent even though they dont have a shred of evidence.

If the glove dont fit you must acquit! "B-But this is a human glove..." I rest my case. "Damn his clever legal loopholes!"

Better to side with that **** Koris and not give the evidence really (only one who benefits gets the data anyway as we find out later). Tali talks about the consequences of releasing the evidence and she ends up getting proved right. While it was the right thing to do, the trial also had nothing to do with her so you could get away with being a bit morally apathetic at the situation.

Fortunately, Charismatic Shepard is charismatic so it didn't have to come to this. However, if I was playing the Galaxy's biggest ****, I wouldn't do that. No one is that evil.

Eh, it's bigger than just Tali. And she realises this. If you do it, you hear about the Quarian fleet splitting apart, something they really can't afford to do given their plight. The trial itself really wasn't about Tali. It seems like you're screwing over the entire Quarian people by doing that, since it sounds as if even with their entire population, they have little chance of taking on the Geth.

At half strength? They're doomed, and the other half will probably be unable to support themselves without the rest and slowly die off.

It's bigger than just her. She realises that and is understandably ticked off if you do so. So no, I wouldn't do that. Even as a renegade, it's better to keep them together to use and throw at the reapers anyway.

I only betrayed Tali once. And that was in the vid you mentioned. XD I'm never gonna do it on any of my real playthroughs though.

Renegade Shepard shouldn't tattle on Tali's father.  That's a Paragon act.

Well honestly if the Quarians are that sensitive about complicated politics then it's a wonder they haven't all driven their ships into a sun by now.

mmm, well there's the diff between tattling your friends to be a douche, and tattling on douches for not being your friend.

Sovereign just wanted to give us cake!
That's why he was opening the Citadel relay, to have tons of delicious and moist cake delivered!

We're on our way.

But no, I would never betray Tali. TBH, I'd ensure I had enough Paragon/Renegade to get her off, but if she wants to be exiled, so be it- her decision. Not mine.

Honestly if anything in this trial has a negative impact on Geth/Quarian relations I'm siding against the Quarians, talimancing be damned!

(Technically my canon is a femshep, but whatever my other manshep still sides with Geth)

Is it ever said what's done with the evidence if you don't show it?

I hope we get to blackmail the Quarians with it in ME3.. kekekeke.

Nope I'd never turn in Tali. To me the evidence didn't really matter, keeping my trust with a friend did. Rael's dead anyways, and I figure her dad's problems aren't Tali's

Plus the Collector/Reaper threat is a tad more important thatn quarian/geth politics

Admiral Xen basically finds out about it anyway and intends to continue on with the research

Tali is one of Shep's few loyal allies that he/she can trust. I wouldn't do it unless I thought the ends definitely justified the means.
