Wow! Shame on Bioware. Shame, shame, shame. Jade Empire looked better on the original XBOX.

This game makes the 360 look like Nintendo 64. I've played Baldur's Gate, NWN, and Jade Empire, and I was very very excited when I saw that this game was going to be released for the 360, since I don't own a computer that can run it. The reviews looked great. I can see the foundation of a very entertaining game, but I can't get past the blurry graphics and terrible interface. Don't buy this game for consoles! Wait a couple of years until an affordable computer can run it.

I hear in L4D2, the gun animations are done pretty poorly, I don't think I should buy it.

Oh and you can make a decent PC these days for about $500, it won't last you 10+ years, but it should last you 4-5 years before needing a new graphics card, as long as you don't mind playing a few games on low-medium settings in the last two years, and in that time, the money you'd have saved by not paying for Gold Membership could be spent buying the new card, which means back to high quality graphics, mods, and all the rest of the stuff PC users get ( and join the elite PC master race )

Or hell, just buy an older card, you'll need to replace it within the next 2 years or so, but that would mean you'd probably end up spending about $100 every two years, so its not really the best choice, or heck, wait another 5 years, and then you'll probably be able to make a PC for around $300-$400 due to the costs of materials constantly going down, due to time, and just because its getting easier and easier to get them.

And now I've gone off-topic again.

I dont know what the hell people are thinking when they are complaining about the graphics, they are definetily not bad when you look at it as a whole.

That's because textures on the 360 look like cat sick.

You are right about the cost of a decent PC, I just wan't planning on putting a new one together so I could play Dragon Age, especially when the advertising for the 360 made it look so great! On retrospect I can see that the advertising showed mainly the cutscenes and animations and very little of the actual gameplay. When I did see gameplay images it was usually the PC version.

I liked the radial menu for NWN but on the 360 it is very clunky.

I enjoy playing a stealth character and I had hoped that there would be some upgrades from the standard D&D "pick and stick" rogue. Unfortunately Dragon Age's treatment of stealth is even worse. Pickpocketing is automatic. Unlocking a door is automatic. Going into stealth mode isn't actually sneaking but watching your character turn into smoke with a voice-over annoucning "you are silent as a wraith." I pickpocketed about a dozen guards in the first ten minutes and was never once caught.

Maybe I should have selected a fighter so I could bash my way to the point where Claudia Black takes her top off.

Whatever. Baldur's Gate (Throne of Baal), NWN (Hordes), Jade Empire, Mass Effect (still playing). Suck my Deekin.

The unsatisfying console versions are a scheme to lift PC games out of the shadow of console reign. Some buyers have to suffer for the greater good. Or maybe graphic engines aren't their strong side.

The cut scenes look good and I really liked the voice acting. I wish I could sit with the game longer but I can't fathom playing 80 plus hours staring at the drab scenery. Blame it on the Fade.

They did great with Jade Empire and that was for the original XBOX. Mass Effect is good, too.

You sound like the husband who got the unpleasant wedding night surprise after an arranged marriage and figured well I'm stuck with her.

If you already have a monitor, you could get a decent PC for less than $1,000.00. If you're only getting it to play this game, it's a bit excessive. If you want one to play LOTS of games on, then it's far more reasonable. This is doubly so because the extra horsepower will also allow you to multitask better, run programs more quickly and generally be more productive. All in all, worth it I think.

Is is news that Bioware has always emphasized story over graphics in their games?

PC is the way to play RPG based games. Console is no such thing. I am a high supporter of PS3 and i would only advise playing an RPG on one to a retard.

I've seen quite a few complaints. Don't know why though as the graphics look superb on my PC. Maybe it's just the 1600x800 resolution but they look terrific to me. Can't speak for the Xbox version though but I'd never get an RPG on my 360 ahead of the PC.

Neither console sucks. I use them to play exclusives and games that get crappy pc ports like madden. It's just that PCs are much better not counting the foregoing.

I agree, which is why I'm sure I'll be playing Dragon Age a couple of years down the road when I'm ready to buy a new computer. I'll survive the wait. I'm sure I can find someone who'd be happy to play the 360 version I purchased. In the meantime I'll finish up Mass Effect or replay Oblivion, or load NWN on my laptop.

I've heard the PC version is cool. Just don't buy the Sucker Box version like I did.

Seriously. What am I supposed to say to that? I wish I'd read a post where somebody was honest about their experience playing the XBOX version of the game before I bought it.
