Apparently you are just seen as a consort and nobody incuding your husband or wife cares about you. It'll be like Alistair or Anora rejected you.
Somehow I don't think that will be the case.

If we are King or Queen how will that affect awakening and why would u go away from your kingdom
If Alistair is king and you married him, likely because he'll be handling politics and you need to handle the WArdens, he can't be both King and warden commander at the same time.
If Anora is queen, well, SHE isn't going to leave her cushy throne and get her hands dirty.
As far as whether or not the wedding took place yet, who knows And as far as "princess consort" or "prince consort" those titles do NOT mean you are a powerless castle decoration (Unless you married Anora...lol). listair refers to you AS his queen. He would let you rule WITH him, and share the responsibility and the power.
Anora...not so much.
Agree. I am very interested to see what happens in Awakening, just a few more days. I will need to wait quite a bit longer seeing I have a Mac. I hope it isn't too disappointing *fingers crossed*.

i never got why people wants the throne. In any RPG I play, from tabletop to MMOs, given a chance at either becoming a ruler or an immortal, I'll readily give both up. Can't see the point in them.
I'm mostly just trying to recapture the feeling of a game called Conqueror 1086 AD. You had an origin sequence where the game presented you with a series of events and you would select how your character reacted to each of them. Then the actual game started and you had to plant crops, build a castle and assemble an army. You could attend tournaments, joust for women's attention, accomplish missions for the king, fight armies, conquer other castles, get married and top it all off by either killing the dragon or killing the king and claiming England as your own. Real time strategy, turn-based strategy, first-person shooter, roleplaying... 15 years ago, that game had everything a game could offer and then some.
I need to go look for the CD when I get back home.

This sounds like my sort of game, to be perfectly honest i always want to play as a powerful nobleman in my games and if i get the chance to become a King or Queen ill take it. Don't get me wrong i only make these choices if i don't have to be an evil character to do them but essentially i like positions of power.
Its likely because in Divine divinity, Baldurs gate and various other classics i was stuck being some peasant who every npc treated like dirt that and the fact that i was constantly wedged into the bloody "chosen one" role which just annoys me.
That said some people don't want to be rulers and thats cool, one of the reasons dragon age is so awesome is the amount to personal choice it allows.

I think the only reason us as players like the idea of becoming kings/queens are only because they are usually only ever claimed a tthe end of the games and we never (almost anyway) have to deal with the boring politics and bureaucracy of a nation. After all getting the power is what is fun. Having it? Not so much.
Ive always wanted to play an rpg based around ruling a province or kingdom, morrowind kind of provided me with an estate but it was pretty lifeless, hopefully amaranthine will be better so far it sounds like it will be good fun to rule.

That does look good, not sure the characters will be as deep as dragon age but the kingdom gameplay is going to be brilliant!
As for Awakening i will be a bit annoyed if i don't get a reference to the King/Queen choice because it was a big one and should be added in somewhere.

Speak for yourself. Some people enjoy delving into policy details that if handled successfully will increase the prosperity of not only those around us, but our entire nation. And others enjoy the powerful seductiveness of political intrigue. Some of us, like myself, enjoy both. Although admittedly, when it comes to political intrigue, I prefer keeping my involvement limited to games. Mostly I like building things, and that includes things like armies, economies and even entire countries.

I was polite to Anora so me and her got along quite well.
If you're an **** to her and only after power she is going to treat you like an ass.
She never betrayed you either. She even tells you that she cannot fall into her father's hands
she is not going to be arrested and be locked in a tower.
Note that she did not place any conditions on her support when she promised to support you in return for freeing her from Howe's prison. Later if you ask her if she'd be willing to support Alister, she'll tell you that the important thing is removing her father from the throne and that she'll accept Alister if the throne falls to him. But despite her earlier promise and her strong words about how Loghain needs to be removed, she will still betray you by accusing you of slandering Loghain and of being a threat to Ferelden in front of the entire Landsmeet if you did not explicitly promise her that you would support her bid to become ruling queen. Furthermore if the Landsmeet rules against her she refuses to accept Alister as king, contradicting her earlier words.
Anora also betrays you at the Landsmeet even if you do explicitly promise her your support if you tell her that her father must die for his crimes. She'll pretend she can live with that, promise you her support in return for yours, and then backstab you in front of the entire Landsmeet in the same way as before.
She is basically Queen Elizabeth I and her giggle is soooo adorable, the only attractive person in the game with culture and intellect to match.
You sound infatuated.
She is ruthless because she has to.
She is ruthless because she thinks that she alone knows what's best for Ferelden just as her father thinks he alone knows what's best for Ferelden. And the maker help anyone that stands in their way...
