So I've tried about everything, but everytime I try to load a save or start a new game, the game freezes or crashes during the loading screen. I can't uninstall the patch and the my disk has the install error, so I'd have to redownload the entire game over EADM. Anyone have a fix?
Bioware, this is pathetic; this is bad for a normal launch, much less a game that was delayed about a year when it was supposedly mostly complete.

None of the three of you was serious enough about getting an answer to include any useful information.
PCs are not *anything* at all like game console systems. There is almost nothing that is truly "standard" between various branded PCs, making the game developers' jobs very difficult, and resulting in warning labels attached to game boxes for those games that have serious requirements.
But you haven't looked at those requirements, right?
It makes no difference whether you previously named your system specifications or not. This thread is where you did not do so. If you are actually serious about the informal assistance that is the bread and butter here, you will either find your original message and add to it, add the components rundown here, or add it to a new stand-alone message about your problem.
The age of your PC makes no difference, and the speed of the CPU, beyond what is recommended, makes no difference, when you have a poor choice of video device. Too many noobs want to ignore the video requirements because those are somewhat less straight forward than CPU speeds and core counts.

Yep I'm having the same issue, it mainly started when I was in Denerim, and believe me my comp has more then enough power to run the game at the highest settings. Any Ideas?

Well, if you're a Phenom user maybe you should read this post that SIncere420 started.

as he seems to have found a solution to his problems.

I have a problem with loading Denerim saves too. Got my mage all the way there and after I specced my mage to Arcane Warrior the saves stopped working, all I got was a crash without any error messages when trying to load a saved game or then the loading screen would just get stuck on "Loading..." and I would have to restart the computer. I was able to start a new game though so only conclusion I came to was that the problem is either Denerim or the fact that I specced to Arcane Warrior.
Since I was able to play all the way to Denerim without any problems I won't post my Dxdiag information in here unless I'm asked to, don't think that has anything to do with it.

Shamien
It sounds like you may have a corrupted save game, which I have had once.
Have you tried an earlier save and played through to Denerim again to see if it still fails?

Ok, this is odd... After starting a new game now the saved games I had problems with work as well :/
EDIT: After hitting the "Resume" button the saves stopped working again.

Shamien, Thank you!!
I had completed DAO and after that upgraded from v1.0 to v1.3 and bought all the extra quests in the store to continue playing. However when I started the game after these changes and reloaded my saved game, the game crashed for every save-slot I had.
After doing as you wrote, created a new character and saved once, I could once again load my old game saves !

Yup, it's now confirmed... As long as I don't click "Resume" but instead load the games manually I can once again play normally. Go figure O_o

I am running on Lenovo r61 with (Win7 64 bit) and it keeps crashing in specific loading screens, I read somewhere that i might have to downgrde my video driver, to the nvidia 190 series, however i am using the 140 series.. And my laptop does NOT work with the 190... Any suggestions ?
