I imported my ME1 character and my first playthrough of ME2 worked fine. I started a new game with my this character for my second playthrough and my unity doesnt work at all. no matter how hurt I am, I cant heal. I can revive my squadmates. but I cant heal myself. I've tried reloading saves. I have restarted my console. I even deleted my game and started all over on ME2. but when I import that character to start a new game with him unity still doesnt work. this character, my primary character, can not heal. if I start new games with different characters they can heal. this character cant. wondering if anyone else has had this problem or if there is a fix for it. this is seriously game breaking and I love the game so much. but I cant play it if I cant heal.

Unity is never meant to heal Shepard. It's only meant to heal your henchmen. If it ever healed the main character that's the bug.

no......the unity is there to heal you or your squad or to revive your squad. get yourself close to death and use unity on yourself........it heals you. well mine is broken. I can only use it to revive my squad. I cant heal myself or them during combat. which is REALLY frustrating right now because I was in the middle of an insanity playthrough. when I need to use it to heal the icon turns red and wont let me use it. but when my teammates die I can use it. but even then it still doesnt heal me.

Unity can have the side effect of healing you. However, that only works if there is a squad mate that is unconsious at the time you go to use it and you have the technology Trauma System (I think that is the name) developed. If only you are injured and your squadmates are not you can't use it to heal yourself. It is not like in ME where you could use Medigel to heal.

The self "heal" also happens for whatever the technological development that returns all squad mates shields to full (redundent shield array??).  So if you are injured, with down shields and you use Unity to heal a squad mate you get your squad mate back (healed fully with full shields), yourself healed and your shields recharged.

But the above can only work if you have a squad mate down.  If neither is down your can't use Unity to heal yourself.

To heal Shepard, all you have to do is to go into cover and wait a few seconds and then you will automatically start to heal. Also if you get the capacitor chest array you start healing faster (your shields start to regen faster at any rate but that is usually a component to healing). You will also heal if you just don't get shot and are out of cover but it seems to take longer to trigger.

I'm sorry, did you seriously correct a BioWare employee on how their game works?

Let me just reiterate that Unity was never meant to heal Shepard. Please don't tell me I'm wrong, I worked on the game. If it did heal Shepard that's the bug...

Well as I said it does do so under the conditions I stated, but only under those conditions.  Consider it a bug report if you know this isn't supposed to be the case.  I have also seen the unity button available to be used in other situations, where it is hard to say what the state of my squad mates are but I suspect they are shields down and injured.  I have managed to get Shepard healed when I use unity to revive squad mates after developing redundant shields and trauma module.  Both treat Shepard the same as the other two members of the squad, which I thought was intentional.

And no I am not arguing with you.  I believe you know how the game is supposed to operate I am just reporting how the game operates in the field.
