This game has a lot of traps/pitfalls in character creation and selection. You choose the wrong talents and you are screwed simple as that. You choose the wrong party, and you are screwed without massive meta-gaming. I made both of those mistakes on my first playthrough with my warrior. She was a 2-Hander with attributes split between strength and constitution. I spec'ed Morrigan badly and I didn't take Wynne. I found that most of the battles were very difficult on Hard mode. I had to resort to very cheap tactics many times, such as pulling, exploiting the AI, threading the needle with cone of cold, etc etc.



On my second playthrough, now that I know the pitfalls and traps, I'm breezing through the game on Nightmare with two mages. I haven't had a single battle where I had trouble, even the Revenant at Redcliffe. I literally face-roll two or three groups where my old group would have trouble with a single group.
