and now even before the game is released we are learning theyve been doing the same to dragon age which means the chances are good that theyve also ****ed up this game

ME2 was streamlined, and it still had romances. And ME2 ****? Are you high? Or do you not think somethings an rpg unless you have an inventory full of obsolete crap?

So theirs no romance in DAA, its not too bad, id imagine you'd still get to know the characters in great detail, only this time around you wont be able to "knock boots wid em"

no im not high, mass effect 2 was rubbish. people that prefer it to ME1 arent RPG fans- simple as that.
and seeing as i am an RPG fan there pretty much the only games i like im hoping that dragon age awakening doesnt dissapoint

Their are things I miss in ME1, such as the RPG elements, that, yano, make it an RPG and not a 3rd person shooter, the weapon and armour mods, and the fact that it felt so much bigger.
But I still prefer ME2, because its combat is just so much nicer to play. Their were more weapons. I tried playing ME1 again after completing ME2, but it was just so "clunky".

ME2 is an awesome game, its just designed to appeal to the masses. If it was an RPG it would be a completely different game, right now tho it really is just a 3rd person shooter, calling it an RPG (in the traditional sense) is a joke.

Agreed on ME opinion.
There will most likely be romance, the npc's will be hitting on other npcs. Just none for the wardens.

Aside from the crappy inventory system, what RPG parts did ME2 get rid of? You still levelled up and chose skills (and you couldn't max them all out), you still upgraded your equipment, and you still got to choose dialogue options.
So is a game not an RPG unless you have piles of obsolete junk in your inventory that you never use?
And I'm not a true RPG fan? Really? Funny considering ME1 was subpar in the 'traditional' RPG department anyway. And maybe I like ME2 for the different story and characters, as opposed to the gameplay?
And considering you're a 'true' RPG fan, what 'RPGs' have you played then? Oblivion? Fallout 3?

there were far less skills
less weapons
less armour
less character interaction/dialogue
renegade/paragon had bigger impact on ME1
much more customisation
and thats just off the top of my head- i dont need to defend muyself to you the point of the fact is ME1 was way more of an RPG than ME2- and all im hoping is that bioware sticks to its origins and keeps awakening as a good RPG and not sacrifice a lot of good interest for combat

And don't go "omg get a relationship" on me, because I've been in one for the last 4 years, thank you.
Imho the romance feature was unique for BioWare and especially DA. This way you could really get attached to the characters in-game. For alot of people who liked it in DAO, the expansion will be somewhat disapointing.

Also, Awakenings is going to be just fine; stop complaining about how the sprinkles on your cupcake aren't the right color.

True, you can get attached to people you are in a relationship with, but so can you with people who are just friends.

its not the romance im solely concerned about- its the fact that mass effect 2 was complete **** when compared to the first because bioware cut out basically all of the rpg elements
and now even before the game is released we are learning theyve been doing the same to dragon age which means the chances are good that theyve also ****ed up this game
It's been stated Awakenings will be "mission-focused". Take that as you will.

True. I'm disappointed about it, but nevertheless am I going to buy DA:AThe romance/relationship-aspect just made me get much more attached to and connected with the characters. It was a much more emotional rollercoaster all the way, compared to others RPG's. I'm just afraid that this won't be the case in DA:A, which will make the experience less intense. But we'll see that in 9 days ofc:lol:
Oh.. oh.. damn you.. i have to wait 12 days
And yeah i do agree with what you say, 100%
