If you romanced Alistair you'll see him again. Thats it.
No Morrigan as she's supposedly in Orlais.
No Zevran because his voice actor was too busy.
No Leliana because her voice actor was too expensive.
That's all I want.

I have come to grips with the fact that there will be no romance in DA:A. It makes sense---it's bad enough that the newlyweds will be separated, but I don't think it would be fair to have poor Ali boy worried that I'll be knocking boots with anyone while I'm away on business, he has enough stuff to worry him now that he is king....And another thing,....just think of the reunion when I get back.
I'm hoping that either in the beginning or end of Awakening you're able to get some good interactions with Alistair if you married him. I'm not that concerned about romance options, just want Alistair and my PC to act appropriately toward each other if they are engaged/married (not sure if wedding has indeed taken place yet in Awakening). I would love to either see them actually wed in Awakening or even more interesting, against all odds, my Queen PC expecting Ali's heir. Now that would be truly epic.

I have to wonder if BioWare knuckled under to the pressure of a very specific set of nay-sayers when it came to the romance aspect of DA and ME. I really hope the relationships between the PC and NPCs are in some way evolved throughout the game. It really adds to the feeling that the player is in the game..it plays like a great book reads that way. I grow to care about my character and his/her interactions with the others. I really love DA and ME and am really hoping BioWare doesn't end up making the HUGE mistake of making less PC and NPC story line.
I highly doubt BioWare did this because of any sort of fan pressure. They've been including romances in their games since BG2. And every time, the same very small set of nay-sayers complains, and BioWare shrugs and goes, "Eh. It's an RPG. With, ya know, character development and stuff."
And it's perfectly possible to enjoy an RPG without romancing anyone. In fact, due to my own pickiness in my romance interests, I do this more often than I would like. Didn't romance anyone in KOTOR, and found the RPG experience just as fulfilling. Same thing in ME1. Same thing in vanilla BG2. The game has to have good plot, strong characters, emotional punch, and immersion--romances certainly help, but they're not the only thing, and poorly implemented ones hurt more than they help.

Same. Maybe If Awakening sells a ton there'll be a bigger budget for the next one.

If it sells a ton then it's more likely they'll continue with the same 15-hour-no-romance-formula expansions.Behindyounow wrote...

Now, if Awakening flops and everyone complains about it... then.. maybe...

My guess is that romances are left... on purpose. I mean, for a, what, 10 hours expansion, having new romances, seems excessive. We need to know the folks first, and then we'll have romances with them in the next expansion.
That seems like an excessive amount of commas to be used in one sentence

I think perhaps finding out she's 'with-child' at the end of Awakening would be interesting. This way it allows time between expansions for her to be pregs and have the baby, so it doesn't interfere her with fighting Darkspawn, of course.

Waaa...let's boycott Bioware to do this! It would be so sweet for Alistair and the HNF to be parents!
Fiona had a child with Maric when she was tainted. Why can't we? Oh and she did get rid of the taint as well.

The only issue is that then people would complain about not getting a choice about it.
To which my only response is "Well, you don't get much of a choice when it happens in real life either."

Sometimes romances just don't fit and feel forced. I have a feeling Awakenings is going to be one of those times. The mission takes priority, like it or not.
And anyway, I feel romances waste developer time and detract from the length of the game... which already being short as it is an expansion, I'm really glad they didn't waste their time on a bunch of NPC's who quite likely won't be around for the next expansion.
I agree but would be nice if they could have your romance from the first game in it. Maybe at the end you are are reunited with them. Something as simple as they come to see how things went or you comeing back and they are there. It sounds simple to me but I am sure it is harder to do. That problay did not make sense feel free to ignore it.
