Becomes especially pronounced on Insanity where rushing headlong into close quarters with the Revenant is less of an option. Most of my fights started with the Viper.

Also note that AR makes damage bonuses multiplictive.
So....Assault Rifle at closer ranges, sniper for long ranges seems wise.
Unfortunately, Soldier cannot go out of cover like some of the other classes, so its stuck using the sniper most of the time. Then again, I wouldn't pass up the option to use the only true class specific weapon.

The Viper is also the most Adrenaline Rush friendly weapon in the game. It's a little jarring.

Its an issue because even at medium range the viper is better than the revenant. Only in close range is the revenant better.
No, at medium range both are on par with each other.
The Revenant can be fired on full-auto without any trouble at medium range during an Adrenaline Rush.
The Revenant can fire 25 bullets during a 'rush, Viper only gets 6.

Except the part where most of those bullets miss with the Revenant and 6 Viper Shots, especially head shots, do a hell of a lot of damage.

Are you saying the Revenant bullets will miss because you have to switch targets?
Because if you have to switch targets, the Viper isn't going to hit 6x during a 'rush either.

No, I'm saying they will miss because the gun is inaccurate. The Revenant is not a bad gun. But even in mid-range, I would never switch to it if I had Viper rounds left.
edit: I'm probably being pretty biased, though. I get a significantly higher dopamine hit from headshots than I do from spraying bullets.

I said this earlier, "The Revenant can be fired on full-auto without any trouble at medium range during an Adrenaline Rush."
Not sure how you can miss when Adrenaline Rush basically halves your recoil to the point where it becomes as accurate as a non-'rushed Viper.

I think I'm wired to get more of a kick out of the Viper though. My bad.
