you and a thousand others agree :P

It seems like there is no other way Bioware could make the scanning/hacking enjoyable to all players. I found the scanning fun though (you know your life is rubbish when you 'squee' after recieving 2000 palladium on a single probe).

Yeah the survey system got tedious after awhile. Thankfully the boost after playing ME 2 once (and importing from ME 1) helps out. But damn, Platinum, always needed it, extremely hard to find.

Yeah the alliance squadmates I could understand but the whole Liara thing was... odd...

On multiple playthroughs hacking and bypass become really annoying.

Hacking not so much, that was easy and you used 'WASD' keys, but bypassing definitely.

Yeah Hacking I actually got used to and sometimes you could get lucky and do it really fast. Bypassing? Not so much, can do it quickly but it really doesn't seem like it.

It's the mouse which is the main problem. It just moves too slowly.

The survey system wasn't that bad, it did get a little boring at times, the hacking I really didn't have an issue with so much, .. now the bypass I definitely agree. Many times I was trying to connect the last node for a good chunk of time due to mouse movement speeds. A couple of times I hacked a safe for just 19 credits because of the last node taking so long to connect.

I don't understand why people find the hacking bypassing games so bad, on the XBOX I don't think it was slow at all

I didnt find hacking or bypassing a pain at all. Better than omnigel. Scanning a bit boring but, gets alot easier after the first game, not game breaking though.

Ahh keyword XBOX

It might, haven't played it on the 360 since I don't own one yet lol, be very console friendly but with the PC ... we are limited by the mouse's speed and sensitivity. Usually its adjustable in the games, but the bypassing, IMHO, was unbalanced to the rest of the game mechanics. With that I mean if we set the speed faster it would of, most likely, caused the camera turning to become very fast making it harder to hit the targets when sniping, pistol popping, etc.. But it would be set more towards the bypassing speed.

Pretty much it seemed like this for the PC gamer end. The secondary timer, the one started by clicking the node, was too fast when you had a large length to move with the mouse. Granted it provided the ranging challenge that no doubt Bioware wished it to. But I personally think it overdid the challenge.

Now I am referring to the basic optical mouse and not a trackball styled, which might have a better response timing for those used to it.

Code hacking with WASD is easy. The problem with the circuit board hacking is half the time the connecting circuit is on the other side of the board either or vertically/horizontally.

Also if you misclick, you need to let the timer run out before you can select the correct one instead of just clicking off the selected connector.

The entire mini game is really easy (especially since you can already guess which connector connects to which from the circuits) but more time consuming than the code hack (which frequently puts the final code section just before the middle code section)

Hacking is better than bypassing. At least with hacking you didn't have to compensate lag/suddenly lowered sensitivity on the mouse.

On the 360, the hacking and bypass sections are super easy, so they never bothered me. However, I also agree that the planet scanning got rather tedious. I am starting my second run through the game, and am hoping it will go a little faster this time. I might just go after the big spikes and see if that can cut it.

I really, really liked the game. The character of female Shepard is just amazing, and I have to say, emotionally, I don't think I've ever been so invested in a game. When I did the final sequence... OMG I had adrenaline rushing through my veins and it was just so awesome. LoL I'm already having a great time replaying it. :)

And even though it broke my little heart to have Kaidan yell at me, his e-mail gives me hope. I can't wait for ME3. ;)
