I am convinced that you are intended to end ME2 as the mate of Tali vas normandy
Why ? for the follwooing reasons :
Being Tali's mate gives you the following advantages for ME3 - tali assumes her fathers position as an Admiral of the Quarian fleet - As her mate, Shepard effectively becomes the 'captain' for the largest fleet in the galaxy - add to this that Legion will bring his "true" Geth to swell ship numbers further, coupled with the fact that both Geth and Qaurian tech are branches from the same tree and thus 100% compatible and you have a ready made armada for Shepard.
Additonally - Ashley Williams definitively closed the door - no love interest there at all but she did express support for Shepard's mission - Anyone hear Alliance Fleet Admiral Williams coming to answer Shepards summons with an alliance fleet ?
The Rachni pledged themselves to answer shepards call when the time comes.
Do the Krogan have ships of their own ? I don't know but the Krogan(regardless of whether Wrex leads them or not) are totally pledged to Shepards cause.
If you were paying attention, galactic news on illium reported that both the Turians and the Asari were beefing up their fleet strengths and that the Salarian special task group was en route to the attacked colonies to investigate - Mordin is your conduit to place them under your control - both to equip them with his 'discoveries' and to obtain access to theirs.
You also heard that 'explorers' had met Rachni scout ships but no relevant details were given.
Also, using this mordin to STG link and Mordins assistants research you could end the genophage almost instantly if the need arises - this is unlikely, Krogan maturation rates are, as yet, unestablished, but I doubt that any meaningful numbers could be produced in time to be of any use.
The destiny Ascension is in the terminus systems, concluding a thank you tour - and the entire council is aboard it.
I am postulating that ME3 is going to be a series of Starship FLEET battles - not the individual missions we have become accustomed to.   The reaper fleets are coming and while individual acheivements have been the meat of ME 1 & 2 - given the consequences of what has occurred - it seems obvious that the ENTIRE reaper fleet is enroute and only an answering Shepard led fleet will suffice. The only way to 'equip' Shepard with a fleet of sufficient size to even begin to combat the reapers is via tali and the Quarian flotilla - the inclusion of Legion will facilitate the conversion of what are essentially home ships into warships.
I also strongly suspect that , regardless of what you decided, the opening act of ME3 will be the destruction of the collector station and/or the Omega relay - given that there is no viable alternative to mass relay travel the destruction of a mass relay, even if it is the seemingly unusable Omega 3,  will send shockwaves of unrest through the entire galaxy.
Its gonna be a helluva ride to the finish line.

No, Garrus is agreeing to not wanting to follow Miranda. If Jack dies before this meeting it is Garrus who is objecting.

Yes but slaughtering innocents is Jack's job.  Tali is manning the engines!

Well hey, you could say the same of every other character for reasons just as important. There is no 'intended' person that I can see, and I don't think Bioware would polarise the game like that into making main characters people might like that are less important than Tali (not saying she isn't liked).

If any character were "intended" it would be Liara, since she's the only one who applies to both a male and female Shepard. All others can't be "intended."



Of course, the idea that any particular romance is intended any more than any other is silly in the first place. It's pretty obvious they're meant to be a side-thing, at best.

I think, if anything, Liara more than anyone. It was the romance which had the most 'character' in ME:1, and her reviving Shepard and following through etc...

Nothing is true, everything is permitted.

Damn it, wrong franchise. Kinda fits though. Anyway, nothing is 'intended', except the basics of the storyline. You just tailor some alterations to the suit. Story. Whatever.

However, I would like to see romantic interests playing a bigger role in the main plot.
