Would you call someone a troll if they complained hamburgers suck because there is no ham in it? That's pretty much what you sound like: you complain about new environments (in a new game), new enemies (in a new game), and how the old crew are completely different people even though you only absorbed the first five seconds of each character (if you bother to scratch at the surface a little you'll discover they're exactly the same people they were, just with extra baggage because of Shepard's death and defamation).

Being called a troll is the kinder of things you could have been called.

Edit: won't disagree the reactions are rather immature though, troll or not.

I can't do it. I have tried and tried, but I just can't do it. There is no way I can understand why this is a sequel to Mass Effect. Oh, sure, the main character is still called Shepard, and you can use the character from the first game. But all the other characters in the entire game is new, and even the enemies are new. The locations are new, the story doesn't pick up from the last and the few returning characters are completely different from the first game. Liara was a lonesome scientist, prefering her omn company and all that. Now "Liara" is the leader of a mafia-thing in  big city? WTF? Tali? Gone are the peaceful, pilgrimaging Tali. In got a guerilla-Tali? Wrex? Gone from the lonely soldier looking for a cure, to the leader of a whole tribe of krogans? (or so I've heard, but I couldn't be arsed to play that long.) Even worse, we get a new krogan on our team. This one is an experimental science project or something, not the old Wrex. No reason why, other than he had to fill up a krogan-quota or something. Garrus? Nah, call him Archangel, as a fun twist. He has nothing to do with the old Garrus. And the worst part? It's only been three years. That's it. How could the entire universe and everyone in it be so fundamentally different in just three lousy years?

Sorry, but I hate this game and have lost interest in ME3. I was hoping for a true trilogy like they promised us, but I guess that was too much to ask for. I'm tempted to leave out Dragon Age, but that was an even bigger disappointment. I met the king and pretty much kissed his butt (figuratively speaking). I started over and told him to go f... himself. (not so figuratively speaking.) The end result was exactly the same, and that's just one example. Sorry, BioWare, but whatever happened to you, I don't like it one bit. You have gone from being my favorite RPG-makers of all time to a company I don't care about anymore. Sigh...

On the topic of Star Wars, its fairly clear that Lucas had only the broadest ideas when it came to planning out the trilogy. Things like Luke/Leia being siblings and Vader being Anakin Skywalker are plainly things he came up with as he was writing it.



Granted, they largely worked out as far as the Original Trilogy is concerned(except for Luke/Leia: disturbing incestual implications FTW!).

You complain that none of the old characters are in ME2. Then you complain that the old characters are actually are in it aren't exactly the same as they were in ME1. It's called character development. Two years can be a long time depending on how you live. Throwing up your hands and screaming, "but it's not the same!" is quite honestly baffling when coming from a presumed sci-fi / fantasy gamer fan (despite it actually being rather common).



Part of the enjoyment, for me, of a serialized, persistent intellectual property like ME is seeing how things change, and how they stay the same. Game play-wise ME2 is an enormous leap forward from ME1. ME2 advances the storyline, and I found it to be an overall fantasty game.



The fact that the entirety of the OP's critique can be summarized by, "it's different and I don't like it" causes it to hold absolutely no weight with me, and I hope that Bioware sees it for the paper-thin whine-fest that it is.
