 I appear to be missing a signet ring on my dwarf noble character, this is needed to enter the thaige chamber to retrieve the shield to complete this quest. I used a premade character originally and thought this might have been the reason so made another in game and still no ring anyone have any idea's on this ??

Your signet ring isn't an actual item, though when I went through I had found my brother's on a body. The text on the sarcophagus indicates that it is your ring, however, that you use.

As for being stuck, there's more to opening it than simply placing your ring in the slot.
