I just finished my second playtrough. And I got to say that this is indeed one awesome game!I played trough it almost exactly like the first time, some of the renegade options really make me feel bad (great job btw) so I always choose paragon. And I just couldn't say no to Miranda. I mean Tali is cute and her dialoge was to, but Miranda just appeals to me. Jack, I didn't like her...
Anyways, the story is just amazing. I also noticed so many things that I didn't noticed on my first run. I'm about to start a renegade fewshep (well.. try to, altleast) to see what difference it makes to be a female, and renegade.
The end mission really brought tears to my eyes, not because anyone died (I saved them all) but because of the pure epicness and the music. The music and sound effects are great btw, I am home alone today so I cranked the sound up quiet a bit.. it just gave me goosebumps during the endmission :)

I just can't wait for ME3!! Although I support the idea of a ME2.5, to pave the way to ME3.

Sorry for creating a whole new topic just for this, but it's just so awesome it deserves it :) I just wanted to say this and let BioWare known they did an excellent job! The only games that brought me tears/goosebumps were Dreamfall: The longest journey and ME1 (Becoming a Spectre for the first time = EPIC).

THANKS BIOWARE!!

I agree with most points. I definitely like the combat of ME2 better. I also really hope they do an ME2 expansion, because I think there's a few loose ends that need tied up before ME3 comes about story wise.

Yeah I like the combat better to. Especially the heat clips. I'm just the shoot 'n reload kinda guy :P Combined with the powers (I do think the shared cool down was a mistake) it does add up to some satisfying combat :) Also the "mini games" like hacking and scanning etc weren't so bad I think, it didn't bother me. But on the other hand, the Mako didn't bother me either

The new hacking stuff was neat compared to the old stuff. On the 360 it was "hit x, y, a, or b when it lights up". Nothing more than simon says. Great improvement.

@Mass Effected (nice nick btw):
Hahaha, nice. If I wasn't so busy with work I'd be in my 4th game to. I mean, the only thing I do is play ME, except for the weekends (I do have a social life, you know)

Hmm yeah on pc it wasn't that bad, you had to guide youre mouse trough a kind of  "maze" in 10 seconds or something. I like the new stuff better

I hated circular Frogger in ME1

ME2 is an amazingly polished game, at the rate Bioware keeps improving their software ME3 should be an absolute wonder.

In two years..... *les sigh*

I was first dissapointed by ME2 but I did a second play through and its a wonderful game.

A expansion pack would be most wonderful maybe including a more Quarian and Geth driven story line maybe even see a Rannoch cutscene.

Thanks Devs.

I agree that this game is easily one of the best I've ever played (26 years of gaming experience under my belt) and I've played ALOT of games. While I agree with the OP's intent, I dont agree, however, that it moved me to emotion like that. I have yet to play a game that invokes that kind of emotion. Sure, the characters are great, well written, as well as the story and gameplay. I just dont find it "moving" me like it does for some other players.

Long story short, yes, I am very much anticipating ME3 and seeing as to how the story arc ends. As long as they dont pull a "Dragon Age" and have us going around "uniting nations" to find against an ultimate evil, I'd be willing to deal with just about anything they do to get us to that point. BioWare's writers are talented enough IMO that they shouldnt have to rehash an "end game" idea from a previous game. On that note, I dont understand the facination with Dragon Age. I can honestly say its the only BioWare game Ive ever played that I was actually disappointed in but that's another topic altogether I suppose.

I agree OP! But I dunno if I want ME3 just because I won't know what to do with my life once its all over...I hope they do some spinoffs like Garrus or something, would be amazing!

When I finished my 2nd playthrough I felt the same way you do! It was trully an amazing experience. Hope you like playing femshep, that's all I ever play as. :P

I agree with you regarding Dragon Age. I played it but I didn't really like it. I played for like 10 hours and haven't continued since (I do not own the game, I played/watched at a friends house)

About the "moving" part; I actually am easily "moved" (I hate using to [ " ] things since; A yes,  "Reapers" -.-)into things I really get in to, like ME2 in which you spent 30 hours getting to know your crew etc. It depends on the person, not the game/movie etc. I consider myself "lucky" (AAAAARGH DAMN "!!!) to be easily moved.

I didn't mind the "circular Frogger", but it was the only "hacking game" you had, so eventually you would get bored with it.

And yes, ME2 owns. Tell me another game where you can probe Uranus. :)

Knowing EA, The ME universe i faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar from gone. If they keep up the excellent quality, I'm happy EA owns the rights to the ME universe (they do, right?)

I hope I like playing femshep to. What do you suggest, custom face or the default one? Cause I think the default maleshep is is the only good maleshep face :)

I'd be game for a ME spinoff where you play as a merc and just do missions. Pretty much meander through the whole game. All gameplay/character based basically.

I believe BioWare owns the rights to their games, EA is just their publisher/piggy bank

Hmm yeah and earn money so you can hire some other mercs to join you in big missions, maybe even getting to be friends with some fellow mercs.
Starting out in a group like the Blue Sun, working for a boss. And when you get enough money buy yourself a ship and start your own merc group.
To many idea's to name. I'm sure BioWare/EA will come up with something good.

Hmmm oke, well even better than. They can use EA massive uber enormous piles of cash to make Mass Effect 3 a game that will shake the earth like it has never done before. 200 hours of gameplay and 20 different endings (I know, it isn't going to happen, but I would gladly pay 200 dollar for it)

I also agree with the OP for the most part.

It's an amazing game, and it even surpassed my expectations.

My only disagreement with the OP: I prefer Tali over Miranda.

I'm on like my 4th playthrough now or something. I'm not even exploring other choices largely, I just enjoy the ambience of the universe and the writing.

I have to agree with the OP too, for years when someone asked me my favourite game I had to choose from a list in my head. Now its easily ME2.

I tried to play Dragon Age again earlier today and I just couldnt do it, I loved it, but now it just doesnt stand up in comparison to ME2. Instead I think im gonna go back to a save I had on ME before Virmire and go from there right through ME2 for the 3rd time. Ive only ever finished 2 other games more than twice over.
