I have to agree with the OP too, for years when someone asked me my favourite game I had to choose from a list in my head. Now its easily ME2.

I tried to play Dragon Age again earlier today and I just couldnt do it, I loved it, but now it just doesnt stand up in comparison to ME2. Instead I think im gonna go back to a save I had on ME before Virmire and go from there right through ME2 for the 3rd time. Ive only ever finished 2 other games more than twice over.

Yeah its funny, I can honestly say that ME2 is the best game I have ever played. In that rare moment when my inner nerd assumes direct control I actually clapped through the credits. That is how impressed I was.

The weird thing is everything I love about ME2 I can name another game that does that feature better. But none that have everything ME2 has.

I was so wrapped up in playing ME2 that I completely forgot to go to the bar and meet my mate and do wingman duties for him when he was meeting some woman and her friend. He hasnt spoken to me since. I still feel I made the right call though :o. I was grinning ear to ear when I finished the suicide mission.

Bahahaha. If he's your true friend he'll forgive you though. Good call, the suicide mission was awesome. I loved all the music during that. Made it way more intense. ^_^

I will add my thanks.

I can honestly say that I have never been so enthralled/consumed/addicted to any game as I have to this one. I got hooked on ME1 and anxiously awaited ME2, but did not expect as good as I got. It's a hell of a ride.

Thanks, Bioware, for a great job! If ME3 can raise the bar again it will be extraordainary.

Lol that joke was awful. Seriously .

Is that 57 hours per play through or 57 hours total? I think my ME1 character was over 100 hours but that was after 3 play throughs. ME2 was around 45 hours per play through. Im actually jealous that you squeezed 57 hours out of it, is that wrong? lol :o.

A total of 57 hours ME1, and a total of 57 hours ME2. And how the **** can you get 45 hours on one play trough!? I listen to every dialoge, I do all side mission and I talk to EVERYONE! and my playtroughs are only 30 hours long :S But I believe my internet was out the first day I got ME2, so you can add like 12 hours to the ME2 time (cause when I don't have internet, xfire doesn't register it )

O and about the 360s, just get a pc ;) Not trying to flame/offend/do anything wrong but I think Mass Effect is best on pc. I got a 28" screen, and have 32x AA and 16x AF enabled via CCC so I can sit a feet away from my screen, and it's still razor sharp (= very immersive combined with good speaker set). Again: No offense intended

Knowing EA, The ME universe i faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar from gone. If they keep up the excellent quality, I'm happy EA owns the rights to the ME universe (they do, right?)

I hope I like playing femshep to. What do you suggest, custom face or the default one? Cause I think the default maleshep is is the only good maleshep face :)

that makes me happy!!  Already loving the comics!Posted Image

Beautiful femsheps are much easier to make, so go for making your own.  The standard femshep is kinda bland.

My first ME1 playthrough was 27 hours, my 1st ME2 playthrough was 47!!!  And my 2nd ME2 was 42...so yeah, tons of stuff to do, but I am pretty easily distracted in this game. lol

Well if you add the 12 hours on thats 42 hours, around the same as mine. I think 35-45 hours is most peoples average from what ive seen on here. My times are pretty similar to Soma Holiday's.

I dunno though I take my time, did alot of scanning, every sidequest, had everyones conversation trees finished off. Just took me a while. Second time I was playing on insanity too so at the start I struggled a bit which probably added an hour or 2 on to my time. Does the time still count when its paused? That might account for a good 3 or 4 hours of mine too.

I think mine's getting there.  I have to be sure to give it about an hour break after 6-8 hours to cool, or it'll start freezing games at the loading screens randomly. :x

My PC was free(long story involving an absurdly generous guild member from back when I played WoW), and isn't up to par.  I prefer a controller in my hand for most games anyway.  I don't have to worry about viruses on my 360, and I've had enough problems with that crap on my PC's.

Well you're right. Consoles are pretty easy compared to pc. I own a ps3 to, but I just use it for blu rays.

Some games are much better on consoles, especially on a nice TV, and if I just had a laptop I'd probably get the 360 version, too.  I had the original ME for 360 simply because it came out for the console first, and I enjoyed it plenty.  Since they were out at the same time for ME2, though, I got the PC version.  Gotta love the 5-second load times!  Oh, and the .ini mods, of course.

Well, I wouldn't mod the game anyway.  Basically the tradeoff would be shorter load times, no disc swapping at the cost of not being able to use the beautiful HD on my TV(my moniter is an old LCD from like '03, max rez is 1024).  Plus, as stated, I prefer the controller.  It just feels natural in my hands(started console gaming over 21 years ago), where as the keyboard and mouse just don't move as smoothe for me.  Shrug, to each their own.

;)
