Yeah, thought the exact same thing, the stuff you wrote down there is the same I would write down. But I have to disagree on your last sentence though. I never disliked TIM, neither did I dislike Cerberes. They get things done. Some measures they take are a but extreme but overall I enjoyed working with them. Blank check = win :)

Its because of my Sheppard's background...he lost his unit on Akuze because of a Cerberus project gone "right" (which means very very wrong)

A yes, I see. It makes it more understandable. But hey, They rebuilt you remeber. If someone would rebuilt me, I'd be there slave for a year, no questions asked! haha

Im in the same boat as CmdrFenix83 I been playing on consoles for about 23 years and Im just not very good with keyboard and mouse. Plus im on a laptop and sitting on a bed, I tried playing the witcher like that but it just didnt work out, shame because it seemed awesome. Id love the high end pc graphics but im happy with my 360 and hdtv.

Well I did mean a pc.. not a laptop -.- I prefer console gaming over laptop any day! NO I mean high end sli/cf pc with a 80dollar gaming mouse, keyboard with macro's, big ass screen and a speaker set that will let you **** yourself when turned even to a quarter volume

I had one of those but it got old fast and I couldnt afford to keep upgrading, the surround sound was awesome though. At heart ill always be a console gamer.

Hmm I go with no one in ME1, I don't think Liara is worth it. And I think Kaiden is a wuss. And take Garrus in ME2, I like him the most to.

About Miranda vs Jack. Yeah I can see what you mean. But the thing is, I think Jack is creepy and I don't like her, so I'd have to agree with Miranda on that one ;)

I feel sorry for Jack.  Growing up under abuse and sick experiments done by Cerberus, no less.  I pity her, and actively try to help her.  Miranda's comment there was absolutely out of line, and I make no apologies after siding with Jack.  Miranda's usually in my squad as well, she never survives that fall at the end.  Engineered to be perfect, my ass.  I survived it, even the frail Quarian survived it, but the engineered to be perfect woman couldn't?  Pfft.

What do you guys think is the best femshep romance in ME1 and 2 btw? With a maleshep I did Ashley and Miranda. I liked Ashley at first, but when Miranda came in view it was bye bye Ash!

I was the same. I think the only reason I did Ashley was because she didnt have tentacles on her head though, she was quite annoying, but my Shep figured he might die so he may aswell hump someone. Miranda was a much better option not just for her looks but she was a much better character and it didnt feel like a commander having an affair with one of his unit. Like Mass Affected said it felt more like equals.

I just did a play through of ME1 tonight starting at a save on Virmire where I nuked Ash instead of Kaiden, just so I can have a save in ME3 where Shep didnt cheat on Ashley with Miranda. Despite the fact I didnt care much for her character I still felt bad cheating which I think is down to great characterisation.

You got to time it right. You got to buy the new system a year or 2 after the console releases, this way it can handle the console graphics with ease. Alot of good games are multiplatform, so the max graphics setting are the one the consoles can handle + some AA. And then for the PC exclussives, you just lower the settings a wee bit. It's still more expensive thanthe console yeah. But I think you can get that money back in the way of cheaper games, free games, mods etc etc.
I just build a very nice system and plays everything on max at 1920x1200. But I know, that at the end of the year,I have to settle for no AA, or some settings medium. It's just the way tech works these days :(

DA:O is a better RPG then ME2 and the ability to script how your party members act is a cool idea, but it's tedious and really annoying at times.  The most annoying thing about DA:O though is the fact that there's no voice acting for your character, guess I got spoiled by ME.

We already know you and I don't see eye to eye on ME2.  I've played through ME2 9 times already and counting.  I played DA:O through once, and won't ever touch it again.  I won't dispute that DA:O is more of a pure RPG than ME, but that's just stating facts about the game's genre's.  ME was never meant to be a pure RPG in the first place.

There's a reason I said better RPG and not game, I played ME2 4 times before getting bored off my ass with the adept and stopping.

Yeah then she shows up in ME2 emailing you poetry. The crazy stalker. Im gonna start my 3rd playthrough tonight as an infiltrator with the ME playthrough I finished earlier. Played all my other ones as a male soldier, just cant bring myself to play as a fem. Should tide me over while I decide if I should buy Final Fantasy 13 or not.

DA:O combat is a lot more strategic, it's no actionRPG like Mass Effect. It's more similar to Baldur's Gate or NWN. Different kind of game, I enjoy both, but I understand if someone only likes one kind.

Hey, people have their own agenda and opinions and it won't always coincide with yours. What can I say, I'm a sucker for tragic stories, I don't always want a happy ending.
It depends on who you romance though, it's completely different on each one.

FF13 screams 'rent me first'.  Even if you like the game, unless you plan on playing it a second time, it's not worth the cash to buy.  I personally got tired of throwing away $50-60 on games I wasn't positive I'd play through repeatedly.  I rented DA:O, myself.  Was very glad I only spent $7 for a 5-night rental instead of $60 on a game I won't touch again.

I can understand why it was like that though. DA:O development started more than five years ago, before the first Mass Effect, and it was being done with only Bioware budget, not Microsoft's like ME. Besides, DA:O has a lot more dialogue than ME. Another reason is that modding would have been more difficult if player characters had voices.

We'll see what they do for DA 2.

I hear ya, thing is theres only 1 rental place here so they never actually have anything in store to rent. Plus its over 60 hours long so chances are I will play until I get fed up then take a break for few weeks and come back. As I said though I just cant decide, ME2 has spoiled me, I tried going back to DAO today which I formerly loved and just couldnt play it.

Well see, there's a difference here.  I liked NWN, KotOR, etc.  Those are turn based games.  You can set them to auto-pause every round, and then issue commands.  KotOR even allowed you to make a queue of actions for each character beforehand and then let it play out.  Unless you're good at setting up AI scripting, DA:O tries to play out in realtime while making you pause over and over to switch around characters and issue single commands.  Not to mention half of the most powerful spells in DA:O couldn't even be put into the scripting, since on higher difficulties they would hurt the party as well.

I like challenges so that's not a problem for me.

The only reason they devolved into 1:1 wasn't because they were hard, it was because I couldn't get the AI to heal or chug potions fast enough.  Whatever character I controlled myself could solo the encounter, it's just that the AI all fell flat without micromanagement.  I'm not good at micromanaging several units, it's why I suck at StarCraft, even if I like the game.

The regret was that I let Lelianna go.  Then again, I didn't really 'like' either girl all that much, it's just that Morrigan was my only real heavy hitter.  When she ran off on me, it left me fighting the entire rest of the game with one hand tied behind my back.

Talking about ME on cosole versus PC, ME1 didn't work well for me on the PC. I normally bind the left mouse button to forward movement. That caused endless control problems for ME1. I played it once with less than ideal key bindings only to get the backstory. ME2 doesn't have that problem and the game seems to to control quite nicely with my preferred key bindings.

As far as graphics, I think the only time a console beats a PC is when the console is newer. Consoles only get updated every few years whereas you can always update your video card. And, video cards are performing better for less money these days. I don't use a console so I don't know for sure, but I bet my new $150 video card renders graphics better than an XBox. Hasn't it been quite a while since the XBox has had a hardware update?

I totally agree with the OP about the enjoyment of this game. It set a new standard for me. I think the last game I enjoyed this much was Far Cry, which also set a new standard for me. I'm on my 3rd playthrough with my first Femshep. I'd say the game is good for at least 4 plays, paragon/renegade for each gender. But, I can see it enjoyable even longer if you don't mind wading through the parts that get boring after a while.

True.  After 12 though, I'm skeptical that the game will even be any good.  I hated the switch to a pseudo-realtime combat.  I'm terrible at AI scripting, I like making said choices myself.  However, the game doesn't pause when its' someone's turn, so they act on their AI unless I'm able to switch to them ahead of time and plan my next action.  This was kinda my problem with DA:O too.  I like turn-based, and I like fully-realtime combat.  Both 12 and DA:O had a turn-based type system, with weapon speeds or delays between actions, but everything happened in real time.  I'm aweful at micromanaging that much crap in real-time.  -_-

Well this is kinda the point.  I don't have the funds to invest into upgrading my PC every year or two.  I've had my 360 for two years already, and everything I play on it still comes out in beautiful HD.  There's also no talk about next gen consoles yet, so who knows how long my system will last altogether?

That last sentence was true for NWN too, you know ;).
NWN had the queue too, in fact, Kotor used NWN engine. That's my only real problem with DA:O, I don't understand why they took out the queue.
Oh, I never used autopause on those games, don't like it. Guess I just tend to pause myself a lot.

I personally love both :P. I still must try Zevran and Alistair, I'll play as a female next two games. And then I'l try the homosexual options. I guess I like DA:O a lot :P.

Honestly I prefer the control set up of ME to that of ME2 but the only big difference between the two that  can think of is that space bar does 3 things in ME2 so I guess I'm not seeing how you didn't ahve the same issues.

Neither do I and I don't have any problem playing on PC. You don't need to upgrade you computer every year or two at all unless you're a graphic obsessed gamer who always want to play every game on top options. I've just bought a new PC recently, my former PC is from 5 years ago with a graphics card from 3 years ago, and I played Mass Effect 1 with it without problems.
