Hell Yes! I can't wait to see what kind of puzzles Appatuer Science has for us this time. If this is stand-alone, though, it will have to be longer than the original... just what I was hoping for. Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image
Sure, Half-Life 2: Ep. 3 would be nice, but It's nice to see a (more) fresh face.

About time! Not that I played the original. I definitely need to now. I'm just surprised it took them so long to finish a sequel for this.

I never finished the first Portal. That may have something to do with me forgetting that I do, in fact, own it...

Valve appear to have forgotten about Halflife.

About time - Portal was great (if not a bit easy).  Maybe they'll push the difficulty level a bit more this time.

And there had better be cake this time!

YEEEESSSSSS!!!!! I was just thinking, Ok, so Bioware finished their release cycle...so that means Valve's should start soon! And BAM! Now bring on HL2:E3 Please.

(Note: I don't count L4D, it's not bad, just not my thing)

I like Portal although I was thinking it was Half-life 3 what with all the strange marketing. Can't wait for it regardless.

I believe I read somewhere that Valve isn't planning to release HL2: Episode 3 until 2011, if at all. While it is not yet confirmed, it sure is disappointing.

Episode 3 better be more of a full game for the amount of time they have made us wait for it damnit.

Kinda defeats the purpose of Episodic gaming IMO.

What? The purpose to bring them out at a regular and close dates? Its been 3 years since Episode 2 and still no real word. So yes if it is supposed to close out the story arch and has had a development cycle longer then most games, then yes it better be on par with an actual full game.

If there is a new portal, there will be a new Half Life. Graphics are becoming old slowly, and while I don't consider those important, marketing surely does. Sure, Ep2 had some fantastic graphic improvements, but are they able to even potentialize the graphics to a whole new level to stand up with the games that come out today? Well, I am not asking for much, characters have very nice looks already, pretty much the most realistic in any game yet. Surroundings however might be better if renewed. Also, a "walking" view would be lovely. I have this nausea stuff when a shooter doesn't have visible camera movements when you walk.

I'm definitely looking forward to Portal 2. Beyond that Valve and Steam could fall off the face of the planet I wouldn't even notice or care...

Yep that seems to be the case (was it about 2 or so years ago that they released that 1 piece of Ep3 concept art )

Well, Episode 1 and even 2 were pretty underwhelming compared to the original. Especially 1. I imagine that Portal and Left 4 Dead/2 are easier to do and are a lot better as games tbh. I would rather Valve do those instead of more 'episodes'.

I don't know. I liked both episodes, especially the second one. Pretty much challenging. Of course, the original game was very much epic, considering all goodies it offered, like the new system of making circular saw blades cut your enemies in half.

Portal 2? I'd be skeptical. Portal was an awesome and one-of-a-kind experience, that's why I'm worried how do they intend to make a sequel to it, with new game being fresh enough and not just "oh, we're gonna recycle same old jokes" variant. Not to mention that Portal was FAR from being a standalone game, clocking at 2-3 hours.
