I, like it seems, many others, have had to live with crashes at varoius points in the game. For me these would happen in various battles. I updated my video drivers then downgraded. I replaced my NVidia 8800GT with a NVidia GTS250 and again went through different drivers. I still had crashing problems. In fact, it got worse with the NVidia GTS250.
Well, I seem to have solved the problem on my rig. This looks to have been a GPU overtemp problem. I used RivaTuner to set the fan speed at 100% and ran through the end game at the Collector base. No crashes. Ran through it again. No crashes. Prior to this I would get at least one crash here whenever I played it.
I then installed Nvidia System Tools and setup a fan profile. I set the minimum speed at 40% and the maximum to 100%. I set the temp range from 35C to 75C. Ran through tne end game three more times. No crashes.
So, if you have this issue, you might try setting up your own fan profile instead of using the programmed one.

Well if you read my post, you would know not to use 196.75. Not only causes heating issue, but hampers performance, cause really bad FPS and instability in games.
