Spirit warrior actually looks like a better anti-mage warrior than the templar itself
No kidding. hell, it seems more anti-anything than any other spec.

Dumb question, but will Spirit Warrior work with archery?
Unknown. Prediction: if it doesn't, author of Combat Tweaks will update his mod to make sure that it does.

Finally a decent specialization that evens out the overpowered mage !
This will balance things out for the warrior class, I seriously felt that the warrior class was left underpowered in DAO but with this new class I'll have a little fun.
Now i have to respect and focus on a willpower based character.
If you think this class is overpowered you can smell my balls. If this class is op and nerf this they should freakin nerf mages.
Warrior = 40-60 hours of gameplay without sidequest and ****
Mage = 25-30 hours of gameplay with a breeze.
Warriors aren't underpowered. You're not very good at this game if you think so. Properly built warrior is immune to melee damage and with correct gear, to spells as well. I love it how bad players, who haven't taken the time to investigate everything the game has to offer and build a properly min-maxed character immediatly contribute their worthless opinion to balance and how class X is underpowered.

You've misunderstood. Templars already use a form of magic. Dwarves are unable to cast spells, but aren't incapable of using magic (hence their ability to be templars.)nerdage wrote...
Hmmm... Some worryingly magic-like abilities, considering magic is supposed to be something a person is born with. Also raises a bit of an issue with dwarfs, aren't they supposed to be completely cut off from the fade? Does that mean that can't use spirit warrior? Is it overlooked for the sake of gameplay? Have I misunderstood entirely? Because that's always an option.

Well, any class can beat the game relatively easy, so none is really underpowered. However, if you compare warriors with mages they are underpowered. But thats not really the problem, what is worse is that their gameplay is far more linear and boring in terms of ability usage. Pehaps this expansion will change this, but we'll see.

But the descriptopn of the new specialization suggests a connection to the fade, which I would think precludes dwarfs from using it because they apparently have no connection to the fade.Vaeliorin wrote...

It suggests a connection to/possession by a spirit of the fade. The way the description sounds to me is that the magic comes from that spirit, not directly from the fade.
As to how a dwarf gets possessed by a fade spirit... I dunno.

It helps S-S spec which usually can't even finish off a "white" enemy fast.
It also helps two-hand spec which would enjoy the "double critical" a lot.
