Regardless, that part was extremely dissatisfying. You spend the whole game making her happy because you know there's some 'hope/good/kindness' (and because Leliana is boring) in her heart somewhere.... but alas it's either fu*k her or have Alistair do so she can run off and raise a darkspawn child, alone..

For such a cool character, there should be a much better ending to your relationship or simply let it work out, somehow. Happy endings are good, no?

It is what it is, but you can't help feeling cheated. This I suppose, was exactly what Bioware was going for. Damn them lol.

You can't say she didn't warn you. She kept telling you over and over and over that it wouldn't work. You just didn't listen...

Again, I fully understand that, but you crack her shell (extremely hard shell)  throughout the game and I feel you make great progress. I just thought that scene really didn't make sense and was again, really dissatisfying. Seemed so random for all the things you have done for her.

I dunno...her departure seemed fitting, even after 'cracking her shell.'  A happy ending would have been out of character for her, and I was satisfied with the 'morrigan's regret' portion of the epilogue.  She'll be back, as will Flemeth, I'm confident of that.  And DA:O planted the seeds for Morrigan's eventual betrayal of Flemeth, maybe in DA:2.

I think since Morrigan was a shapechanger...she turned into a man and had sex with his main character? I think that would be the worst suprise ever.

It makes me think of that thread about metagaming on multiple playthroughs. My characters now show up to their room on the final night with a stack of papers, hushes Morrigan as soon as she starts and says:

"Yes yes. Here's a set of waivers I'll need your signature on absolving me of all responsibilities for support and obligation for the unholy spawn of our union, here after noted as 'the bastard'. Hey, we're not married right? Then look under the counter, the bondage gear is mandatory and we're not even getting warmed up until you've got the chaps and bunny ears on. That last requirement is you accepting that we'll send for Alistair when we're done. No, nothing super-kinky in that, just that I'm going to hit that sweet backside of yours so hard that only the future King will be able to get me back out. I doubt that's possible actually..

In my playthrough I have female mage who spared Loghain during the Landsmeet, but he may serve as Archdemon food.. and Flemeth is walking around somewhere.

I don't think they can work with that, the only thing they can do is have Morrigan magically pregnant while she is being controlled/possessed by Flemeth.

Personally, I hope the next installment has nothing to do with the first game in any way. A lot of people here think that Bioware will make it have quite a few story elements that began in the first game, and they will be based off of cannon decisions that Bioware thought would appeal to the most people. I hope they're wrong, but they probably aren't.

Morrigan was dead the whole time and in DA 2 she is turnedi nto soylent green and you eat her while playing with rosebud.

Personally, I hope the next installment has nothing to do with the first game in any way. A lot of people here think that Bioware will make it have quite a few story elements that began in the first game, and they will be based off of cannon decisions that Bioware thought would appeal to the most people. I hope they're wrong, but they probably aren't.

I agree, that was exactly my point.

There are just too many options how the game can end, it is impossible to create all options.. or it has to be that you can't start a real new game but that you can only go on with imported Wardens and all the possible endings count as different origins. I hope this makes some sense, it sounded good in my head.

I think if they just turned all the possible outcomes into origins for DA2, it would kinda be the same thing as custom tailoring the game to the decisions you made in DA 1. They'd still need to make a bunch of different games. Personally, I just feel like the wardens we have at the end of Awakening have a completed story. They are also very powerful by the end of Awakening, so if they started a new game with our wardens we have now, everything would die exceptionally easy to the point of it not presenting any challenge.
