Orcs are tired, as well as elves and dwarfs. But what are you gonna do.

I like Dwarfs. I'm not the biggest Elve fan, but I like having them around in fantasy things too I guess.:)

Orcs Darkspawn whatever you want to call them, as long as I have something ugly and easy, but in mass to kill I'm happy. I'm just glad they are not huge and green.

Can I get a Zug Zug?

Orcs were almost always that stereotypical, barbarian clans of brutes. Had they given them a culture and some depth it might have made them more interesting, but as it stands almost all settings use the same cookie cutter style for em. Granted, Elves and Dwarves are little better, but I think Dragon Age does a wonderful job of injecting some life into them and lore that adds quite a bit of depth to the characters. The two Dragon Age novels do a wonderful job of portraying a bit of them, despite their heavy focus on humans.

Orcs? aren't the blight orcs? They look like orcs, they act like a mindless orc horde, they probably smell like orcs, therefore they must be orcs...

Call me old fashioned, but a fantasy without wizards, elves, dwarves, and orcs just isn't a fantasy to me. At least dragon age kept the essentials. Though I wouldn't mind orcs.

A fantasy doesn't have to have any dwarves or elves at all. I've read fantasy novels with angels or bird like people, and people with antlers on their heads. Fantasy can be whatever you want it to be as long as it has magic, powerful beings, creatures ect..
