 well i finally got the game running after applying the patch and well i have a rather unusual issue,

when i hit new game to start it sounds like 5 or 6 people all start talking at once and it jumps straight to 
the character creator - these voices talk for a bit so i imagine im meant to have an opening scene or 3

i go through and make a character fine enough but when i go to start playing the same thing happens with all the opening dialogue, only pausing when i have to make an input - then it burns through the dialogue again 

 i dont think i wanna start a brand new game and miss all the plot and story  so im a little annoyed that i cant play.

anyone got any ideas or know of anything that will help??.

just started borderlands and that plays better than i imagined, so im stuck for ideas
