Mkay so i'm new here and likely to get flamed for not knowing this, but when is the "new heavy weapon available to all Cerberus Network members very soon. Stay tuned for more info on this new addition to the Mass Effect 2 arsenal, coming this month!" actually gonna be revealed? This was posted in the news in February, and no announcement was made "this month" back then. Well now its March and i'm just wondering when we're actually gonna get to meet this new heavy weapon.

My guess it will be released with hammerhead. Bioware is making a habit of announcing release dates then missing them. (See return to ostogar(sp?))

There has been no official word since that announcement one way or the other.

Heavy Weapons suck. The Grenade launcher is all you need. I want an option to NOT have a heavy weapon attached to my back.

And yes I played Insanity. And no heavy weapons are not necessary even on Insanity. The Widow is better.

I agree that most heavy weapons are useless, I just use the collector particle beam cause it looks cool and dominates praetorians, I'm hoping the DLC heavy weapon is actually something fun and not "Oh lets make a Cain that has 5 shots and makes blue explosions!"

Necessary? Is it necessary for me to drink my own urine? No, but I do it anyway cuz it's sterile, and I like the taste...

Nah, not really, but I do find the heavy weapons fun for a little overkill every now and then. Can't think of one situation where a heavy weapon saved my ass though...

Collector heavy weapon was very convenient for Husks. If you get the armor off they are a 1 shot if you hit them in the legs.

I'd like to see a heavy weapon along the lines of a geth colossi siege pulse, it would do low-medium damage but be able to shunt people out of cover.

Does it even matter? Heavy weapons were one of the least used things in the game. Adding more of them would be about as useful as adding more 1-piece armor that will never be used.

Not that I don't appreciate some freebies, but something useless and free is still useless.

Am I really the only one who uses them on a regular basis?

There just isn't enough ammo to use them on a regular basis - at least on higher difficulties. Maybe on normal that would be feasible, but at that point they become basically pointless.

Regardless, adding another normal weapon, rather than a heavy weapon, would probably be more productive overall.

They're fun to use? I've already finished it twice, if I play now I play to mess around.

I'd like to see way more variety in normal weapons than add new heavies

Only used the nade launcher, rocket launch, and the collectors particale beam.

Other then that, the avalanche sucked it rarly ever forze the enemy, the cain takes to much ammo and time to even bother with. The blackstorm is cool, but not really practical, the flamethrower is a joke, your dead before you get into range.

did I miss any?

Yeah, there's like..

Grenade Launcher
Flamethrower
Blackstorm
Rocket Launcher
Frost Launcher
"Nuke Launcher"
Particle Beam

Compared to the grand total of four guns, split into two classes.
And now we're getting another one? That's insane. I know that heavy weapons is the "new hot thing that is the bestest thing ever and everyone has to like it or I'll cut myself" according to Bioware, but c'mon.

The Collector Particle Beam gets a good bit of ammunition when you level up the heavy weapons - over 700 rounds (on normal, but even 2-300 would be more than enough) at least. I find it incredibly useful for wearing down big enemies when I'm low on rounds in the Widow...

That happens to be the only heavy weapon that I ever really use. Go figure.

I love all heavy weapons.

My favorite is probably the Blackstorm. It is just badass looking and is useful.

A new SMG would be nice. I don't like starting a new game with the Machine Pistol. I'd use heavy weapons more often, if there was a store to buy HW ammo from.

Hmmm... What about a heavy weapon thats similar to the support weapons from halo 3? It would be roughly like a slightly more powerful avenger except it fired from a single 500 round clip, so you could lay waste to a field of husks then move in with other weapons to deal with the smart enemies

Except continuous, the revenant still has to reload, this would basicly make you a turret for a short time
