Heavy Weapons suck. The Grenade launcher is all you need. I want an option to NOT have a heavy weapon attached to my back.

And yes I played Insanity. And no heavy weapons are not necessary even on Insanity. The Widow EVERYTHING is better.

Also, not having a heavy weapon could be an option, say +10% storm speed?

I would love the option to pick which weapons you want on your body. Just because you are trained in them shouldn't mandate that you select them. A more customizable inventory that is reflected in the character's appearance would be a great improvement.

Yea, I like how they made the AI only carry weapons that they can use well in ME2, it was kinda dumb having tali run around with sniper rifles in the first game, though the only weapon i wouldnt carry would be a shotgun, cause i never use them

I'm hoping for something with a huge rate of fire, loud, and belt-fed.

Screw it.  Give Shep a fifty.

I thought heavy weapons were fun, even if they weren't always useful. I'm pretty eager to see new weapon we get to toy around with.

Heavy weapons would of been much more useful if our ammo was refilled when we returned to the Normandy. Would mean a lot more CAINs being fired.

Pretty much. I do tout the Cain around for those times I am feeling lazy and do not wanna work on clearing a room.

The cain is only good for dominating a boss fight, and that kinda defeats the purpose of the boss fight in the first place

Especially when they decide to whip them out randomly.  "Bad Liara, put down that AR!"

The Cain is a bit silly, I agree.  Basically gives you the option of skipping every boss fight at the cost of not being able to use HWs on grunts, presumably catering to the crotchety fun-hating old man market.  Or speed gamers.

It's a target designating laser that is used for the Normandy to fire a used krogan toilet at. Imagine that for toxic damage!

Apart from the Cain, heavy weapons aren't insta-win. When used properly, they can beat the crap out of any other weapon in the game.

For instance: Blackstorm can lower the defenses of multiple enemies in a very short time - combine that with singularity, cryo blast, neural shockwave, warp detonation...

Grenade launcher insta-kills husks on insanity.

Avalanche works best when you shoot it in 2-3 round bursts on a pack of enemies. Faster crowd control than anything else.

That said, the Rocket launcher is pretty crappy, the Flame thrower doesn't panic opponents, and using the Collector beam means you have to be out of cover to do sustained damage, which isn't true for the Grenade launcher...

You are not alone in that regard.  I made extensive use of the Particle Beam, Firestorm, and Avalanche heavy weapons during my playthrough.  The Firestorm's probably my favorite out of the three (Who doesn't love a good flame-thrower?) but the Particle Beam came in real handy fighting off Collectors (especially ones being possessed,) and Scions.

That aside, I too am hopeful for a minigun of some sort.

a Minigun would be an idea. a Railgun cannon would also be an interesting idea. Something maybe like what was SUPPOSED to be in Tiberium.

Not at all. I use the Avalanche more then the 'nade launcher. Being able to freeze enemies is quite useful.

It seems that a minigun would be well-loved by most, hopefully bioware considers that

A railgun by its definition is a cannon. The ones in use by the US navy (well, testing, actually) shoot projectiles at such velocities that they ignite the air around them.
The railguns used by Shep and co, on the other hand...

The only one I really use is the Rocket Launcher.

I use it when fighting bosses, just hide behind a crate and fire straight up, and it will find the target automatically, yeah it's a cheap weapon, but I love it!

A mini MAC (Mass Accelerator Cannon/Gauss Gun) would be cool, hitscan and knocks any enemy over if it doesn't kill them.

All handheld weapons except for the Rocket launcher and its ilk are railguns (i.e. Mass Accelerators). What you want is already in-game, it's called Widow. Or Carnifex, both work.
