Reaally? I think it looks ridiculous. Like what a twelve year old would draw for their first RPG character. Which is perfectly fine. When you're twelve. I like that Origins seemed to shy away from being TOO ridiculous in the weaponry.

To bad would didn't get anything like this in Origins, but yeah I think it looks pretty cool.

I'm pretty sure that's a two-handed carving fork.

Y'know it's threads like this that really point out the general jerkiness of human beings.... Glad you've found something you'll enjoy, OP.

It does look good. I am glad that weapons (and even staffs) have much more variety in Awakening. That way people who don't like a design can pick another one instead of whine.

Looks like my main finally found something more awesome than Ageless, thx for the pic OP - hope there is even more like this. Variety ftw.

I also think it looks cool, too bad we can't have a thread around here without some douchebag criticizing to the last detail.
Edit: and yes, the staff that Anders was weilding in the live demo was really nice looking to. Very Excited for this expansion.

Looks pretty much just like the Equalizer's icon did in Baldur's Gate 2.
So all you haters can suck it.

But if they weren't whining, they might have to develop human decency or cognizant thought. Think of the horror that could wreak.

One of the problems I had with the two-handed style was how unrealistic it was in the first place. Good to see Bioware aren't changing their direction any in that regard. It looks like something you'd find in World of Warcraft.
Unless it has some in-game explanation of why it looks the way it does, it's bloody ridiculous.
Oh well. We don't have to use it.

1. The icon for Equalizer was silly then and is still silly now.
2. The icon bore no relation to the actual in-game model. Were that the case for Dragon Age I'd have no complaints about that.
3. I WILL use another sword. Or rather my companions will. Hopefully not all will look as ridiculous and that will not turn out to be the most powerful two handed sword in-game.
All you lovers can suck it. Saying a design is ridiculous is as valid and insightful as saying how kewl it looks. Both are worthless subjective statements.

I can point out at least four fundamental design flaws from looking at that sword but....hey it's fantasy, let's hope magic can save a sword that otherwise would not work! Lol. If you like the super-fantasy stuff, then that's good, you'll get what you like. If you like more realistic weapons, you shouldn't be called a "douchebag" for it.

You probably loot it from an Ogre Alpha who uses it to eat salads - which is to say Dalish Elves hiding in foliage.

Actually calling it ridiculous isn't subjective in terms of practicality. I'd argue that it's fact.
How you feel about its looks, however, I agree is entirely subjective. What I don’t like about it, and as I said in my post the reason why I find it ridiculous, is how unrealistic it is. I don’t think that’s an unfair or worthless statement.

For my next ridiculous weapon, I would like to request a hula hoop with blades on the outer edge.

I'm not particularly fond of two pronged swords. The way this one is made kinda rubs me the wrong way. The blade's head is larger than the lower part and the prongs go half way. Just my opinion but the design confuses me, aesthetically. Is it for smashin, slashin, stabbin?
I like stuff like Yusaris where it is a simply but VERY intimidating design.

It's the Equalizer. A sword From Baldur's Gate 2. It had the exactly same form, double hilt. Although it was blue, and it was a long sword.
