PS:  Now that I think of it meeting another Shepard created by Cerberus would make for a  really neat twist in ME3.  You betray the Illusive Man and he creates a Shepard Doppleganger and starts claiming he's the real Shepard and you were just a Cerberus experiment and since you are in fact a Cerberus experiment you might have trouble proving him wrong.

I think it would be more dramatic if you had to kill yourself (in an oddly non suicidal sort of way) or yourselves rather than being able to recruit yourself.  Furthermore the shock of facing off against your duplicate would force you to deal with some very unsettling questions...

"Did Cerberus really bring me back from the dead?,  Or am I just another copy?"
"How do I even know I'm the Real Shepard?"
"If I'm not Shepard than what am I?"
"Am I even human?"
"Am I even alive?"
"Do I have a soul?"
"Are these my choices?,  Or am I just doing what Cerberus programmed me to do?"
"Are my memories real or were they written by some programmer? (a Canadian perhaps?)"
"Why is it so hard to remember anything before Eden Prime?"
"Was there ever a real Shepard to begin with?,  Or am I just version 2.0?, 3.0?, 4.0,...?"
"Do I dream of electric sheep? "
"WHAT THE HELL AM I ?!"

Ask yourself, how would you react if you found out you're just a 4 billion credit knock off?


  

Besides it would be really hard to maintain authority over yourself.  Every 5 minutes you'd have to deal with crap like,  "I'm a way better Shepard, I should be in charge." and "Get a haircut, You're making us both look bad." and "How could someone with my brain be so damned stupid.".    And for that matter imagine what would happen if Shepard 2.0 starting putting the moves on Liara (or Miranda, or Tali, etc. ).  I can only imagine that situation ending with a half crazed Shepard screaming "There Can Be Only One!" before the start of a Highlander style fight to the death. 

PS:  Do you think Doppleganger Shepard should have a Goatee or an eyepatch?
