Most people try to save all of their teammates. Female players who liked Thane as a romance certainly saved him. The DLC doesn't have to need Thane to be alive. It could just have curing thane as a bonus.scyphozoa wrote...
it does sound really hard to believe that they would make extensive DLC that anyone who didn't save Thane couldn't use. that would lead to 100 page threads of whinespam.

Thane in my opinion is far from the most interesting squadmate and also not a great love interest to me either.Bioware put a lot of work into all of the characters, there's nothing wrong with them doing this. I don't think they're going to create a character specifically as an LI like they did with Thane and then just throw him away by him dying of a sickness. They could easily make the DLC a mission that has combat and all that as well as the bonus of curing Thane.Bioware should not invest so heavily in one squadmate when there are so many other areas they could focus on that would affect the game or story overall.

I wouldn't mind that, actually. I think batarians are adorable. Especially when they call you a blight and point in a dramatic fashion.
I wouldn't mind a batarian romance option either. My second FemShep is single anyway, and she simply can't decide! Why are there so many awesome males in the MEverse!? The Fornax magazine seller on Omega comes to mind. Stop lookin' at me like that!

Thane was received very well by a large number of female (and male, straight or otherwise) gamers. We just don't talk as much outside the groups, as the disgruntled cries of 'emo, Carth, etc' get tiresome. Because a man showing any emotion other than humor or badass-ery is totally emo, didn't you know? I pay very little attention to the threads outside the NSAS anymore, unless it's something of particular interest, as this particular topic is.
The only LI that didn't seem to go over well from what I've read was poor Jacob, and that's not because he was so very bad, but more because he was kind of fade-into-the-wall bland.

(This FemShep would be happy to see another damn female that's not a quarian/asari... but that's just this FemShep...)
It's probably a safe bet that this is LI related... I have absolutely no interest in cloths... or shoes.
Maybe it's pets?
Maybe it's more post Omega 4 lines... something to be able to cont the relationships into ME3?
Hell, maybe it's got something to do with the Hanar/Thane or that new chicken race that sounds like they'll look like different types of quarians (I can't remember what they're called... Raoli?)
Who knows. If it's something for Thane, that'll make two of my 5 saves much more interesting. But if it's JUST for Thane... my dreams of a shirtless Garrus (FOR SCIENCE!) will cry in the corner.

That's true too. I also hope it is not another LI or LI related really. Not that i don't enjoy them as far as character development is concerned but again I feel it would be a waste when there are so many other interesting things along the main story that they could do.Collider wrote...

This Thane fangirl will add her voice of support to your desires for a shirtless Garrus. Because I also like Garrus a lot. I may romance him yet, in one save or other, if I can manage to *not* go into Life Support for once.
Edit/aside: The Carth/emo commentary was sarcasm. I love Thane. He is not emo in the least. I was mocking those who've brought it up. Besides, the 'emo' insult really has gotten rather hackneyed.

Mordin is hax. Seriously, when Thane was all, 'ooh, the best hanar scientists couldn't figure out how to cure it' I wanted an option to shake him and say 'You don't understand how epic Mordin is. The thing about any Thane DLC is that they're just going to complicate matters further for any appearance of his in ME3.
For him to be in ME3, not only will you have had to have kept him alive during the suicide mission, you will have had to have downloaded and played the DLC.
But hey if BioWare want to add even more unecesarry headaches for the next game, whatever.
I dunno, if you don't get the DLC it just gives you a default outcome in ME3. If Thane is alive for you, the game assumes you cured him. If he's not alive, well it doesn't really matter...

Kidding, I don't care about shoes either. But one of my FemSheps does! This'd be a welcome addition to her general fashion-addiction.
Of course I'd be happier about a DLC that makes Thane cureable, or one that finally shows us some of other female aliens. Or the Raloi. I just don't know why FemShep players would be happy about encountering a Raloi.

Not really seeing this. Same voice actor is irrevalent. Unless you mean the "whining" that some people think both of them do. I'll give you that Carth was annoyingly distrustful of Revan, but not really seeing any whining on Kaidan's part.JohnnyDollar wrote...

I'd really like to see a drell that isn't a palette-swapped Thane, actually. Kolyat has a slightly different facial structure, but below the neck it's Thane with a blue tint, I was rather disappointed by that. Now whenever I do his loyalty mission it's all I can focus on.
lol Kolyat's blue leather jacket of identical tailoring was definitely uninspired.

I was extremely disappointed that we only saw one other drell in the entire game, and encountered zero hanar NPCs. What a step back from ME1. The jellies are actually kind of interesting now.
Some kind of hanar/drell/something DLC would address all of that. Maybe we can visit a colony of some sort? I don't think we'll be going somewhere like Kahje or Rakhana, though that would be amazing.

Stop pretending to be a detective and look into Thane's damned sickness! It's almost suspicious how much he avoided this subject. Maybe the devs planned to make this story into a DLC from the beginning? Or they wanted to resolve this in ME3.

Any return of the ME1 love interest would make a LOT of us very very happy.

Sadly, I agree. I love Thane, but to find a cure seems simplistic. As much as part of me wants to keeps Thane around, the rest of me knows much of his mystique comes from his tragedy. If it were possible to save everyone, the emotional weight of the Mass Effect universe would be diminished.
