So I'd feel terrible killing a kid.  But getting to punch out Isolde, AND killing her in the epilogue?!  Connor, you got a big red target on your back now.  Nothing personal 

Actually you don't really have to kill Connor i think. Just let her live. She will bear a baby girl and she will die. The baby girl (which will be named Rowan) will also have some magic in her.

As we're being really pedantic:
Obsidian is formed from the remnants of Black Isle Studios, who did indeed do IWD, but they were a developer and not a publisher. Baldur's Gate was published by Interplay. Black Isle was part of Interplay but they only developed/co-developed games, they didn't publish them.
And the engine in question is the "Infinity Engine", not the "BioWare Engine".

And back on topic: You can't kill the Arl pre-Landsmeet. He's a quest essential NPC, for a start, so if you killed him then you would have a lot more trouble in regards to the Landsmeet.
