I'll most likely play the dwarf commoner origin for completeness' sake, but I won't play through with one 'cause I can't say that it interests me too much. (In theory it does, but judging from the preview I can't help but find the execution pretty bland.)

Mind you, the second reason I won't play through with a dwarf commoner is silly, but it would hurt my equal opportunity heart to play through with a second dwarf origin while not being able to do so with a second human origin.

You could always play a human Mage.

Nope, they all appeal to me on some level, though I'm still debating what order to play them all in after my first time through.

Also means you would only play one of City or Dalish elves, but not both.

I will most likely play through all the origins in some random order, or all at the same time. I am just weird like that.

I'm not too keen on dwarven commoner, but that's pretty much because I have a hard time playing assassin/black-market dealer type characters. I've always liked the dwarven concept of honor, however, and the dwarven noble looks fun! I'll be playing with my elves and humans first, but I'll definitely play the dwarf noble eventually.

I think all origins look interesting, but some more than others. My first character will be a Human Mage, and second will probably be City Elf or Dalish Elf. I've never been a huge fan of Dwarf's, but I'll play through both origins simply to experience them. I know I'll play through both Dwarf origins last, though.

None of the origins are bad to me at all, except maybe the human noble. But I'm going through that one too.

I think none of them are all bad, it's just that the Human Noble didn't have a lot going for it until I saw its video and liked it a bit. So, in other words, I just can't decide :(

Nope, none of them. Having played with the creator though I am really looking forward to playing the dwarven origins.

I usually only play humans, but this time 'round I'd be tempted to play a dwarf, their stuff looks interesting.

I will definitely play through each of them, but the Dalish origin is the least appealing to me.

At first I wasn't planning on playing the Dalish Elf because of The Witcher (great storytelling, but disappointing Scoia'tael Epilogue), but after a little bit of thought, I came up with a couple of fairly compelling characters for me to attach to. I've found that Bioware RPG's are very therapeutic in the sense that any stereotype or distasteful experience you may have had can simply be set aside and you can create your own character from the ground up without the games telling you that you have to do it a certain way.

The mage origin and the dalish elf origin interest me least, I have to say, but I certainly plan on playing them all. I can't wait to try both the dwarf options!

I want to play all, just not sure if I'll progress in the mage one, though. I have problems being a mage in games, I think I became traumatized with it when I played a MMORPG for the first time and people were always "heal me, fast" and that things, when I didn't even know how to play.

It seems the Dwarfs get a lot of hating around here?:(
I like Dwarfs and they will be one on my first playthrough probably. I like Humans too though. I'm not the biggest Elve fan though.

Don't be fooled by appaerances. A great number of people were converted from pure elf love to loving some dwarves too. I originally was going to ignore the dwarves altogether until I learned a little about them. Even getting to *BE* a noble dwarf made me put that as my number 2 to play as, bumping mage down to number 3 spot.

Will play through all of them eventually, dwarfs first, then my dalish elf, then the rest of them. The human origin and magi origins interest me least, never enjoyed playing human in any fantasy game. In my gaming history, ive always taken the oppurtunity to be a dwarf or elf over playing as human if possible :)

The irony is that that they say the dwarf experiences are some of the most rewarding - especially the noble one. And most won't even experience it! What a shame. Mine is Dwarf Noble after Dalish Elf and then Human Mage I think (covering all three races and status backgrounds).

I am tempted to play all of the Origins stories before I progress into the game. I'm most intrigued by playing a Dwarven Noble who actually has a noble heart. The video for dwarven noble intrigued me a lot because it seems you are thrust into a perilous/scary situation, but that is probably the case for every origin story.

Playing all the origin stories is pretty much required if you want to see everything the game has to offer. Especially after having completed the game once, playing other origin stories will offer more insight to characters and places you encountered in your original playthrough.

I only like to play a human character, however, in DA:O's case I'll play them all, because that's how the game was intended to be played.

Thanks Andreas, yeah, I feel like I want to experience all the content of the game. I worry that if I do not play all the origin stories at the start, then I may never return to them all. I kinda doubt I will play through a 100-hour game twice. The most I played a RPG was Fallout3 and my heart isn't in it for a 2nd playthrough. The sacrifice of playing all the origin stories at the start seems reasonable (5x2 or so hours).
