You are most very wonderful for doing this. Thanks!

I'm sure Gibbed's save editor will eventually be able to do that, but it seems very incomplete at the moment.bjdbwea wrote...
Quite amazing. I think I'd just leave Legion the way it is and not bother with all that editing (maybe someone could write a little tool that patches the savegame for you?), but to be able to play the rest as it was intended, is certainly worth of another playthrough.
You're welcome. Let me know if you run into any problems.Cyadina wrote...
Can't wait to try this, thank you for posting all your hardwork in detail.
Hmm... let me check my save files for my other characters.cymro wrote...
hi, me again! ;s
I played a bit further, completed some content on the citadel and recruited Mordin and tried to edit my save game to enable all recruitment missions. i tried to find the none.é (capital E) in my save game using the HEX editor, but to no avail. does this only work if you edit it as soon as you get on to the Normandy?
Can you upload your save file? I'm curious to see it.cymro wrote...
Hm, I have one save where it definately doesn't exist. I tried another save 20 minutes prior and it did have it. I'm pretty sure I can get it to work now. Hm. I wonder why my latest save didn't have the 'None.É' in it.
The save he sent me was a manual save (Had the Save_00## file name).dipdunk wrote...
Are you trying to edit an autosave or chapter save?
The None.(fancy E) string doesn't seem to appear in those, only manual saves.

Hmm... there's a possibility that other stuff could be added to your save file that mine doesn't have. Try the 166 blocks after as usual. If that doesn't work, set it back to 09 and look for something that looks like the hex blocks before it (F0 E4 84 0E was mine).KarmaTheAlligator wrote...
I'm having a bit of a problem. After getting Legion and the IFF, I checked the block you said (166 from the N in None.E), but on my save it's not 01 but 09. Should I change it to 00 anyway, or does it mean something else?

The steps in my second post of the thread involve changing that specific hex block to 03 ('After Collector Vessel' state), then back to 02 to enable Horizon to trigger ('After Freedom's Progress' state) and then to 01 to enable the Vessel mission to trigger.KarmaTheAlligator wrote...

Seemed to work. Also, I was thinking, to open the galaxy and all missions, we need to change a 00 to 03, but what are the effects, if any, of changing it back to 00 (since we need to manipulate it to get the "story" missions)? Shouldn't that put the game back to its original state, where getting the first batch of characters trigger the Horizon mission? Or have you tested it already?

Well, it's better than using 02, since 00 was the original number.KarmaTheAlligator wrote...
I tried to change it to 00, and got the original galaxy map. I'll see if I can get the story to continue normally.
And I just got sent to Horizon after getting Jack, Grunt, Garrus and Mordin. With Tali and Legion recruited too, so I guess it works.
I know this isn't the point, but you know you should have switched them, right? I mean if the game hadn't crashed on you anyway.Ecael wrote...
I gave Tali the difficult job of leading a Fire Team consisting of one person, and sent Jacob into the vents.
