I didn't like having to choose between ash, and kaiden(I think?).

Yeah, that option sucked, lol. It was also very touching and makes you feel all emotional, especially if it's your first time.
You could go back for another playthrough with the same character and level up some more, make your desired choices, etc, then get Mass Effect 2 and import your character to continue the story!

Will have to wait a bit before I can pick it up, and my decision was to save ash, since she was with the nuclear bomb and all, can't trust her to do it right!

But she totally hates aliens, and that means she hates Tali, right!?
At least she showed that she distrusted them a bit when I talked to her! xD

I think I remember someone telline me about min/maxing, but do the other weapon skills really matter? I never really overheated and the skill from assualt rifle and the abilites and eliminates cooldowns seems keep it up always for just about any fight.
So I'm a little confuzzled! I'm not even max level yet and could still go on to get more skills even.
Maybe I am just missing something? or maybe I am missing out on what someone meant by min/maxing?

As to Ash being distrustful of aliens, she hasn't really had any contact with them, so she's a bit distrustful of the unknown. I wouldn't realy call it hate.
If you romance her with a male Shepard you can change her perspective some. It also can be kind of interesting to change which party members you take on missions on different play throughs.
Oh, at least one time, leave Therum for last.

Well you only pick up like 10 skill points going from 50 to 60. If you're satisified with the way the character plays, and plan on doing another run through, I wouldn't worry about it. Put the points where they seem fun or best to you. Most of my build advice tends to come from my perfectionist/power gamer point of view. As long as you had fun with the character you built it right.
