I wouldn't say Kaidan is winning; though he has a nose over Garrus in the female department, Garrus overall has a much larger male fanbase that gives him a significant boost.Soma Holiday wrote...
BAHA, well it's nice to know my loathing of Jacob is shared among, well, everyone. Surprised to see Kaiden as the winner. I did romance him, but I think it was because no one else was around. I have yet to see who I'll stick with in ME3. I'm hoping the ME1 LI will still come back even if you 'cheated' in ME2...we'll see.

I think the problem is he was written for the wrong audience. There's not a lot of overlap in the "girls who play video games" and "girls who read Harlequin romance novels non-ironically" department. He's like the lonely housewife fantasy.
He may be a giant scaly chicken monster, but I had to go with Garrus. I always fall for guys who can make me laugh.

Kaidan, easily. I like characters where you have to dig deeper to see their true value. And he has lots of appealing traits which you only discover when you are really dealing with him. Plus he's totally devoted to and utterly in love with FemShep. That makes me go all aaaaw <3
Yep. He's so well written. All the other romances didn't have as much depth as his character. You have to peel away all the layers and really get to know him, but it works really well for gamers who really tried to understand the different characters and their thougths/motivations/emotions, etc.
Also, most of the guys voted Liara... to me she was so see-through and under developed (socially awkard - I like the analogy of someone comparing her to a teenager with a crush earlier). Ok, so she's the shy, quiet, nerd type who has a great body. Not much to think about there. I like the complication with her in ME2 though. Really opens up her character for me - so on one playthrough, I'll probably stay with her.

The LI's in ME2 just didn't interest me all that much.
I did the ones for Garrus and then Thane, but there just wasn't any connection.
And poor Jacob, he's not getting much lovin.
But hey, Kaidan see's the woman and Jacob see's a prize.
Go figure.

Eh, an argument can be made that every character is a "whinner." But for everyone else it just seems to be "getting to know them." I really don't understand why Kaidan gets this reputation.

I do have to agree that Kaiden's love for femshep is beyond adorable. I honestly loved him through the first half of ME2 even more than I did in ME1. When I got his email I felt like a 15 year old girl with a crush haha, but I think the fact that he's nonexsistant through the rest of the game really hurts when the sexy frog man starts making an appearance.
I dunno, I just couldn't shake the thought that Kaidan is the woman in my femshep and his relationship haha, is that terrible??? He's a great character but he's a little too devoted. I want to see him take charge even more! So if the ME1 LI's face off with the ME2 ones, then maybe Kaidan will swoop back in and win my femshep's heart.

Have you renegaded him?
My gawd, does he ever get fiesty.
"If they don't want to do anything, they should get the hell out of our way!"
Also, use some renegade dialogue with him once in a while.

If you choose to "renegade him," he's more aggressive. But I've never actually done it, just watched the youtube clips. You might want to give them a look over. But I agree that his(and Ash) absence really hurt the relationship... I kept hoping for some post game reunion after the Collectors are killed.
lol, Fort beat me to it... she does seem to love renegade Kaidan.

If I yell at him a little will I still get his picture on my desk???
That was another thing. I hated how as soon as you started a new love interest the picture dissapeared. Didn't make sense. I also thought the word 'love' suddenly popping up in thane's romance was weird. Sure, she said 'it isn't love' but still...

I never tried the 'renegading' options just cause I was worried it would end the relationship completely...and ofcourse I don't want that.

In ME1, you can renegadeize him. You need 6 charm/intimidate I think.
I think there's one video of it on youtube somewhere.
Just save before each time you talk to him and you should be safe

Kaiden's my favorite. His relationship was the most developed. It was also kind of nice that he actually showed an interest in Shepherd *first*. I hated how ME2 made FShep throw herself at the LIs. IMO Shepherd shouldn't have to turn into a **** in order for a guy to notice her. She's a awesome woman, and if they're too blind to notice it's their loss
.
Awe...that's so true! Especially in ME1 when you first go to the wards and he says you're beautiful...
Now you guys are making me want to go back to Kaidan...
AHH ME3 cannot get here soon enough!!! I DID stay true to Kaidan my first ME1 playthrough, so that counts for something I guess. Too many interesting men in this game...
