I could see Carth whining, maybe. I was off put by the fact that Carth didn't trust Revan. But I don't see how Kaidan whined. He only tells you about his past if you ask about it, and even makes a point that it's all taken care of.

I dunno, I just couldn't shake the thought that Kaidan is the woman in
my femshep and his relationship haha, is that terrible???  He's a great
character but he's a little too devoted.  I want to see him take charge
even more!

I actually think his reservation is due to his past and the Vyrnus- issue. He is afraid of hurting someone if he ever really let go. But that doesn't mean he isn't capable of that. I think Shepard is doing a great job to get him out of his shell. Their love for each other is benefiting both of them, really. Kaidan learns more to be 'at ease' with her and FShep finds someone who is regarding and appreciating her- the woman behind all the hero stuff.That's why they are by far my favorite pairing...it's just that endearing. Haven't seen such a depth in the other romances.

Well or maybe it's just me...I have a thing for thoughtful and emotional men. Cuz acting mature and reflecting things of the past isn't equal with whining. Period.

I voted for my wife, since I've never played a female Shepard.

In ME1, she romanced Kaidan. In her paragon run, she stayed loyal to Kaidan, but wishes she'd romanced Kelly (though she wasn't able to since she got Kelly killed by doing a side-quest I recommended without knowing the consequences of doing so for where she was at in the game). For her renegade run, she's planning to romance Garrus, but she had intended to romance Jack before she found out that a femshep/Jack romance wasn't an option. She says she probably would've romanced Miranda in her Paragon game if she'd both known that Kaidan was going to be a jackass (and unavailable) and, more importantly, if it had been an option.

Mature? He's jealous of the slighest bit of attention that Liara receives, and then when you talk to him it's all OHHH POOOR ME! Annoyed the heck out of my renegade FemShep, who wasn't into blue female-looking aliens and didn't exactly have much choice. Then come ME2 and he's like, "I love how you're not dead and all *kiss* *kiss* but I'm an Alliance soldier so ****** off". Then he remembers what a needy guy he is, sits down and writes you an email. Wow, she was positively melting. Not.


But honestly, most of this is just reading different things into it. If Kaidan works for you, great.:happy:

I'm hopelessly enthralled with Garrus.  I was beside myself with happiness when I found out he was romanceable in ME2.
On my 2nd play, however, I'm going for Thane, just because his outfit is so incredibly chic.

I'm female- and, as I mentioned on the poll, I didn't romance anyone.

Don't get me wrong, I like my crew. There isn't a single one I dislike. It's just that I don't feel anything for them beyond platonic affection- close friends, maybe, but not relationship material.

This is mostly because my tastes in men tend, as a general rule, to run contrary to those of the majority. I like unusual pairings; ergo, more often than not my character winds up alone.

Not that this is necessarily a bad thing, mind you...

Well. Other than being afraid to open my mouth around certain crewmates, lest it sound as if I'm coming onto them.

 So far Garrus is my main squeeze, he's just so cool and adorable. I killed off Kaidan with my main femShep, but I went back to see what happens when you save him. 2 things turned me off:

1. FemShep throwing Kaidan over her shoulder when rescuing him from the bomb; dude, I know you're hurtin', but at least pretend to man up before I gotta haul your ass out of there.

2. During the bedroom scene, Kaidan starts talking about wanting to protect femShep or not let anything happen to her (I forget the exact wording). Dude, I just threw you over my shoulder to save your ass and you want to protect me? (The sex was hot, though... too bad.)

I do want to try all the romances, though. Also I hadn't considered doing too many playthroughs with manShep, but then I saw this youTube tribute to the Tali romance, so now I'm curious.

I'm female and I'm torn between Garrus and Kaiden but I picked Garrus for the poll.

I'm male and I chose Thane as the favorite romance option. I play a Paragon femShep and the Thane romance was one of the few moments where BioWare lets her be supportive and feminine.

Garrus is a close second, but it's Shepard setting the pace there, so less being supportive, more being very determined.
