Thought it was really interesting to see where 4 years brought Mass Effect as a franchise. =]

Demo video of combat:

To be honest, I loved the pre-release Mass Effect star-map design. The motion blur and such looked awesome.
Also, the entire HUD loks more sci-fi, with orange circles highlighting planets, and tooltips (with planet info and such) emerging on a sharp animated orange line. Awesome.

The combat hud looks pretty slick too. Health/Energy bars are giving off that cool data-panel-from-star-trek vibe. Awesome.

But WOW & LOL at the auto-aim. Thank god they scrapped that.

Appart from the auto-aim it looks really great. I just wonder why many things where changed in the end. Weapon sounds and animations look better. The galaxy map looks better. Most of those dialogues where not even in the game, specially with Garrus and Ash talking to each other.

Now there is no taking controll of squad members, but I can understand the design decision behind that. But also no detailed squad placement interface.

The star map designs were awesome. It also seemed a lot more tactical than game we got.



I would much rather have that combat HUD than the one we got in ME1
