Yeah I know, you just have the occasional whiners. Can't please everyone though. Maybe if their were about 1,000 different versions of the game, no one would whine. No wait that would't be enough nevermind.enormousmoonboots wrote...
If you're interested in the numbers, I've got a female LI poll going on, and after over 400 votes, it seems like very few people were completely dissatisfied with Femshep's options.

I didn't say anything was wrong with it. I said female Shepards don't get a male NPC outside of the romances kissing her or fawning over her or anything like that. We just get a couple of sleazy comments.

Keep pushing for him and maybe you'll get it. Most important thing is that Bioware hears about the joker fans and that they want a romance.slydfoxxy wrote...
Not to be pushy or anything but I still think Joke should have been a romance option, at least he has beeen with Shepard the longest and both times Shepard died the emotion that he showed really got to me. Yeah he has Vrolik's Syndrome but I think Cerberus must have done something to him because he is doing all sorts of stuff he could'nt have done in ME1 due to only being able to walk with crutches or a leg brace. And to all those who say nooo he should be with EDI, fair enough that's cool but I still think those of us who would like the option should be able to get it and if not let him have EDI. I mean Tali fans got Tali and Garrus fans got Garrus, Joker is one of the most awesome characters in both games but he is so poorly underused it's not funny.I'm pretty convinced that Bioware will make up for the cameo in ME2 with extended romances in ME3.If I don't end up ever getting Joker then i'll happily keep Kaidan for my main LI but I won't be happy if there isn't any development in ME3, the ME1 had so little to do in ME2 that hopefully there was a reason and they will make p for it in ME3.
/rant.
One can only hope Collider, there are quite a few Joker fans out there and some really good Joker/femshep fanfics and fanart too, we are trying to be heard but we are only one of many thousands of voices. It's good the devs listen and actually read the forums, maybe they'll see how awesome he is and add him as a LI, failing that i'd be quite happy just to be able to get more dialouge for him. They made him much easier to talk to in ME2 but he still only got a few lines every couple of quests.

You know, I really like Joker until he says some really jerky wise-ass comment (as an insult to Shepard) that Shepard has no witty retort for. At least those are few and far between.

I am being intentionaly overdramatic, like my nail and hair salon post. Would it be better if Gianna was male and kissed your femshep? Should Aria be another race and be male and flirt with your femshep? Would changing those two things satisfy you? I doubt it would satisify the girl gamers. Because then it would be where are the female Krogans and Turians. Then it would be something else. Then once Bioware has made all of the changes, we no longer have a video game, hey it's a Soap Opera now.Tamyn wrote...

You said everyone should be a female except for the LIs, i.e. take nearly all the men out of the game. That's what didn't make sense to me. I didn't see how that would be pleasing "girl gamers."

I barely even thought about the ME2 LI's. Part of that is because of ... well, look at my sig and take a guess (I'm presuming my Liaramance group is showing properly). I swear, she was done so perfectly (in my eyes) for the first game, and the biggest problem with her in the second game is debatedly 'not as much' as well as 'LIs need to have better reactions to her dialogue', that I can't see anyone even beginning to take her place. (Okay, I'll stop gushing about my blueberry love muffin and keep that to the Liara thread, just had to say it.)
However, if we are talking about ME2 love interests, I see a pretty bland guy to start in Jacob, a pretty awesome guy in Garrus, a pretty interesting guy in Thane, and a cute yet seriously underdeveloped bridge bunny named Kelly. So I grade two passes, one incomplete, and one fail, which is the same fail that maleShep gets. (Plus I've seen people grade Tali as a near-fail because you start worrying you'll get her sick if you try anything. FemShep might have it better, in other words.)
Having said that, I still think that maybe the pretty-clearly-bisexual Jack should've been an option for femShep just because... well, as I've said in a few different ways on a few different forums, femShep is capable of romancing Liara and having a relationship of sorts with Kelly, so she's canon-bi, and Jack is canon-bi, do I need to do any more explaining? Then again, as it's been stated in a few places I've seen, Jack's practically a butch stereotype in her character design. They might've wanted to avoid completing the association to avoid Unfortunate Implications or something. (Though they made the bi male in DA:O the outright easiest to bed. So they're not very good at said avoiding, at least consistently.)

But uh... the grass is always greener. fShep gets Garrus, HD abs and smooth as eggs lizardman, man. I'm pretty jealous here. What do we get? Annoying, tryhard and munchkin. Samara is the only squadmate I'd be able to romance on account of everyone else making me want to kill myself. SO YEAH.
Some of us mSheps are lonely too, brosephines. Q___________________Q

If you honestly think there aren't legitimate reasons to dislike Jacob as an LI and instead focus on his race, then you are the racist, not I.
Please, ellaborate on these legitimate reasons. Your current explaination of "ugh" is a tad vague. Hey, if you don't like black guys with Jacob's morphology that's fine. There is no law dictating that you have to be attracted to everyone. I'm not attracted to most asian women. That doesn't mean I dislike asians.

You're right. I'm a a self hating black man who hates most asian women and other black men. I also hate men in general, every other animal species and just about all inanimate objects based solely on the fact that I have no desire to have sex with them because, as you know, I am obligated to find every single person, place or thing I encounter sexually attractive.

There you go, and now you know how absurd you sounded saying that the only reason she didn't like him was because he was black.
But...but that was the only reason. Everybody knows everyone hates... the blacks. That's why white people move to a new neighborhood when a black moves in as their neighboor. That's why we still have unofficial segregation to this very day. Hell, that's why the caste system, which is race, was invented.

That's what I'm saying... I don't want my female Shepard to go to dinner with Kelly nor do I want her kissed by Gianna. I want her acknowledged as a pretty lady by a handsome man outside the official romances. At least once considering all the male Shepard's options.

Now, me personally, I don't find any of the male romantic partners in ME2 all that interesting. Yeah, I am a guy, but I probably count Alistair in DA:O as one of the best written romances BioWare has done, so I'm good with having my female avatar get sexed up by the men. I mean, it's probably just my tastes, and the men have their fans (well, except Jacob), but they just didn't click for me.
exactly. It's not as if I as a straight male need only lesbian LIs for my female characters, Alistair was a great LI (but in the end he always pisses me off when he's basically willing to sacrifize everything for his petty revenge on Loghain, but I guess it's still in character for him)...
But maybe DAO also spoiled me a little bit in that regard, since it had a great f/f romance with Lelianna! It just feel like a big step backwards that Femshep can't romance the obviously bi-sexual Jack and Tali who makes also some comments in that regard... also since the LIs in ME2 are all much worse than the ones from DAO (except maybe Zevran, who I just hate)... best thing about the DAO romances probably was that you weren't always the one initiating it... Lelianna basically starting the whole thing with the hair-comment, Alistair and the rose... well, anyone who played DAO knows what I'm talking about... and that the romances in DAO were much better, not just because you had more options (yes, actually less LIs, but at least the f/f and even the m/m, though that's not my kinda thing
