You want to stick with FF music, FFXI had a terribly wonderful soundtrack. There wasn’t a song I didn’t like.

Ahhh, Those Who Fight Further is excellent. A mainstay of my video game music playlist. Agree about Sephiroth's final theme (so overplayed), but I do love FF7's soundtrack otherwise. Cosmo Canyon? Jenova's theme? Bombing Mission? Those Chosen By the Planet (honestly I consider this to be Sephiroth's theme way more than the choral stuff)? It's all wonderfully atmospheric.

FF11? I didn't think Uematsu worked on the MMO. Never played it, never had the $$ or the processing power for an MMO. 9 is probably my favorite my favorite FF soundtrack; You're Not Alone and Protecting My Devotion just stuck with me so much after first playing the game.

If we're talking video game soundtracks, though, I gotta toss in a nod to Persona 3 (dat final boss music), Persona 4, and Devil Summoner. Pretty different from Final Fantasy, and I'm not usually a fan of J-Pop, but for some reason I really love the more modern spin.

I love Ico and the Shadow and the Colossus, can't exactly explain why but I think it has something to do with the way everything is slightly obscured throwing everything off balance and I'm a sucker for an ambient soundtrack. I believe these are very under rated. It's relaxing sometimes to put down the swords and think your way through something.

Underrated- Demons Souls Hard as hell only masters at RPG's can handle this cruel and unforgiving game. Buts thats what made it so fun!



Overrated- HALO without a doubt rehashing the same gameplay over and over nothing really special as all the fanboys claim it to be trust me i played them all .

Underrated:
Darksiders. I absolutely had a blast playing this...the gameplay was far from unique, but it was absolutely amazing. The art direction was amazing, the story was infantile, but it was like 300...so over-the top and campy that it was brilliant.
Descent Freespace. Everyone that's ever played this has LOVED it, but not that many people have played it. Sadly, there's no reason to think we'll ever see a Freespace 3...which is EXTREMELY disappointing

Overrated:
Halo. Pretty standard fair...par for the course...there was nothing special about this game. It's not BAD, but it's not particularly good either.
God of War. Same as the above. It was good...but not great. Personally felt it was too childish to take seriously, and took itself too seriously to be considered campy.

Demons Souls underrated? Really? It's one of THE games for the PS3. Last I looked reviewers and gamers dug the hell out of it, and I was under the impression that it sold pretty well.

EarthDefenseForce 2017 is one of the most overrated games of all time for me. It is an amazing co op scifi shooter that has you going through huge destructable landscapes fighting giant.. bugs? AWESOME! I totally recomend this game if you have someone to play it with in splitscreen. You can easily spend weeks on this game.



for overrated, i would have to say Halo 3. It was the largest dissapointment to me, being a HUGE fan of the previous 2 games. what a let down.

I have no idea what this arguement means about the fanbase. I understand it, but i can't jump in on it. For me though, the first time i played FF7 was before i had internet, so i never really met the "fanbase". It has been my favorite game ever since i first played it. I still play through it once a year or so and love almost every single bit of it. Except the fort condor battle, something about that annoys me.

I  bought both freespace games again through Good Old Games and relived the whole saga with the graphics mods the community has made. It is still the best space combat game ever created. The first capitol battle you experiance will never leave you.

Underrated: Battlefield Bad Company. I literally knew nothing about it except that it existed when i downloaded the demo. Instant addiction.



Overrated: Mass Effect 2, Left 4 dead series, MW2
