Forgive me if this has been asked a lot - can anyone tell me exactly what the activation policy is for Mass Effect 2 if bought from EA Store? I can't even find this info out on EA Store's website.
As it was explained to me (by a friend who could be wrong) - I could activate it on up to 5 computers but an unlimited number of times on those 5 computers. I want to check if this is accurate though.
I have installed it on both of my computers so far, but have bought a bigger hard drive for one of them so I need to reinstall Windows and of course the game - is this going to use a third activation or will it still count as the same PC?
Thanks for any info.

Mass effect 2 uses the same system as dragon age for download versions. It is a new system, made by EA. Selected questions from the official faq:
What happens when I launch my game
with EA's online activation solution for the first time?
maximum number of machine launches?
Will I still be able to play my
game offline?
Will the EA online activation
solution leave files on my machine after I uninstall my game?
Will my game have EA online
activation if I bought Dragon Age: Origins on a disk?
What happens when I launch my game
with EA's online activation solution for the first time?
- When you launch your game for the very first time, you will be
prompted to either enter your EA Account credentials or create a new EA
Account. - Then, you may be asked to enter the serial code enclosed with your
game purchase. - From then on, your game is linked to your EA Account and you can
access the game from additional machines without having to enter your
serial code. - If you download and install the game on subsequent machines, you
will be prompted to log into your ccount so that the game can be
activated on the new machine.
maximum number of machine launches?
- While EA's online activation solution will allow you to activate
your game on as many machines as you like, you can launch your game on
no more than five machines in any 24-hour period. - You will have to wait to launch your game on an additional machine
until 24-hours after you launched the first game during the previous
24-hour period.
Will I still be able to play my
game offline?
- Yes, you can play offline after initial launch and authentication on
any given machine.
Will the EA online activation
solution leave files on my machine after I uninstall my game?
- Yes. When you uninstall your game, a file entitled "EA Shared Game
Component: Activation" as well as Adobe AIR will remain on your
machine. - These files remain on your machine to ensure proper functioning of
EA's online activation solution. - To uninstall "EA Shared Component: Activation," you must do so by
removing "EA Shared Game Component: Activation" via the "Add/Remove
Programs" page in the Control Panel. - To uninstall Adobe AIR, you must do so separately also via the
"Add/Remove Programs" page in the Control Panel. If you uninstall those
files, however, other applications (including other EA Software) on
your machine that rely on those applications may not function properly.
Will my game have EA online
activation if I bought Dragon Age: Origins on a disk?
- If you purchased Dragon Age: Origins at retail, it does not include
EA online activation, but instead has a disk check, which requires the
disk in drive to play and the entry of a serial code upon installation.
